AUJOURD’HUI!🥧

As the New Year’s resolutions start flooding your feed, I want to quickly remind you that the scale does not measure consistency, nourishment, strength and self-care. Let’s stop chasing a number and start building a sustainable lifestyle ✨

My resolution for 2026? Be better at posting on social media 😜

Some parents are extremely anxious to the thought of the school year starting up and having to make lunches for their kids. It’s like there is this unspoken pressure that comes with making lunches for our children and for some reason we feel like we are competing with the other parents. 😥

Not everybody feels this way, but a lot of people do.

Let’s try to be kind to ourselves and stay focused on what really matters. Whether you love spending half an hour making Pinterest-worthy lunches or prefer throwing in a few convenient snacks five minutes before the kids head out the door, both are perfectly okay. What matters most is that your kids are fed and have the energy they need to get through the day.

Remember that there’s so much more that goes into making lunches than the items we see in the lunch box (budget, time, interest, mental load, culinary skills, family schedule, nutritional knowledge, etc.).

Happy lunch-making! 🥪🍌🥒

Did you know? BMI is not a tool that is particularly useful to dietitians… 🫣

Science has shown many times that BMI and weight are not reliable indicators of overall health. Human health is far more complex than a single number on a scale. ⚖️

One of its major flaws is that it doesn’t account for body composition: somebody who has a very high muscle mass will have a higher BMI that might put them in an “unhealthy” category.

Beyond that, BMI can also be harmful. It contributes to weight stigma and can lead to shame, unhealthy behaviors, and even disordered eating..

Bottomline: Your weight does not reflect your worth or willpower!

⚠️ Disclaimer: I used Minute Rice to make this quick supper!

Yep- you read that right. Minute Rice is a staple in my pantry for nights like these when I need to get food on the table in a short amount of time. ⏱️
Does it make this dish less nutritious? Absolutely not!

Remember - Making a balanced and nourishing meal does not have look complicated or take you hours in the kitchen. 👩🏼‍🍳
