House Clearings & Home Blessings โœจ๐Ÿก

A home is more than walls and a roof. It holds memories, emotions, experiences, and the energy of everyone who has passed through its doors. Whether you have moved into a new space, experienced a major life transition, or simply feel your home could benefit from a fresh start, a House Clearing & Blessing can help create a renewed sense of peace, harmony, and intention.

At Mystic Avenue, our clearings and blessings are not a performance done for you. They are a collaborative and meaningful process created with you. Each ceremony is customized to reflect your beliefs, intentions, and the unique story of your home.

The process includes a pre-ritual consultation where we discuss your goals, concerns, and the energy you wish to cultivate within your space. Together, we then move through the home, beginning with a clearing from the lowest level to the highest, followed by a blessing from the highest level back down through the home.

A variety of tools may be incorporated, including smoke cleansing, sound, crystals, flowers, drums, chimes, holy water, clapping, prayers, blessings, and sacred verses. Every ritual is thoughtfully crafted to create a deeply personal and meaningful experience.

One of the most important aspects of this service is education. We believe that caring for the energy of your home should be an ongoing practice. During the process, you will learn simple techniques and rituals you can continue to use yourself, helping you maintain the atmosphere you wish to create long after the ceremony is complete.

House Clearings & Blessings are led by Rev. Kim Etherington, an ordained Metaphysical Minister with over 20 years of experience in spiritual practice, ritual facilitation, energy work, meditation, and sacred space creation. Kim's approach is grounded, respectful, and inclusive, meeting people where they are and creating ceremonies that honour their personal beliefs and intentions.

Investment: $150 - $250
(Includes consultation and customized clearing/blessing ceremony)

To learn more or book a consultation, send us a message. We'd be honoured to help you create a home that feels aligned, peaceful, and truly your own. โœจ๐Ÿก๐Ÿ’œ

๐ŸŒˆ Pride Month Begins Today ๐ŸŒˆ

Today marks the beginning of Pride Month, and at Mystic Avenue we've painted our threshold in rainbow colours.

To some, it may seem like a simple act. Just paint on a doorstep.

But visibility matters.

For many 2SLGBTQIA+ people, especially youth, seeing a rainbow flag, a sticker in a window, or a colourful threshold can mean something much bigger. It can answer an important question before they even walk through the door:

"Am I safe here?"

To the young person who feels different. To the teenager who isn't sure how their family will react. To the person who has been rejected, judged, or made to feel like they don't belong. To the individual who is still trying to find the courage to be fully themselves.

We want you to know this:

We see you. We support you. You belong here.

Mystic Avenue is committed to being a welcoming and affirming space for people of all identities, orientations, expressions, and backgrounds. You do not need to explain who you are to earn respect, kindness, or acceptance here.

Pride is not only a celebration. It is also a reminder that visibility can save lives. Sometimes a rainbow flag, a welcoming smile, or a business choosing to openly stand in support can be enough to help someone feel less alone.

As a community, we have the opportunity to send that message together.

To our fellow businesses, organizations, and neighbours throughout Cramahe: consider flying a rainbow flag this June. Place a sticker in your window. Add a splash of colour to your storefront. These simple acts tell people they are welcome before a single word is spoken.

Imagine what it would feel like for a young person to walk down King Street and see rainbow flags waving from storefronts all across our community.

A simple message repeated again and again:

You are welcome here. You belong here.

Happy Pride Month from all of us at Mystic Avenue. ๐ŸŒˆโค๏ธ

๐ŸŒฟSunday Reflections: The Cost of Othering๐ŸŒฟ

As we move into Pride Month, I've been reflecting on a concept that extends far beyond any one community: othering.

Othering happens whenever we decide that a group of people is somehow fundamentally different from us. It occurs when we stop seeing individuals and begin seeing categories. When we reduce a person to a label, a stereotype, a belief, or a characteristic and allow that reduction to shape how we relate to them.

Sometimes othering is loud and obvious. Sometimes it is subtle. It can appear in our language, our assumptions, our jokes, our social circles, or our willingness to look away when someone else is being treated unfairly.

What makes othering so dangerous is not only what it does to the people being excluded. It is also what it does to us.

The moment we create an "us" and a "them," we reinforce the illusion of separation. We stop seeing the complexity of another human being. We stop being curious about their experiences, their struggles, their fears, and their hopes. We become less connected, less compassionate, and often less aware of our own shared humanity.

Most spiritual traditions, despite their differences, point toward a similar truth: beneath our identities and our stories, we are deeply interconnected. We may have different experiences, different beliefs, and different paths through life, but our humanity is shared.

When we forget that, something important is lost.

This does not mean we must agree with everyone. It does not mean we stop having difficult conversations or abandon our values. It simply means recognizing that another person's humanity is not dependent on our approval.

As Pride Month begins, I find myself reflecting on another uncomfortable aspect of this conversation: silence.

Many of us would never intentionally participate in oppression. We see ourselves as kind people. We care about fairness. Yet there are moments when we witness exclusion, discrimination, bullying, or prejudice and choose not to say anything.

I understand why. Speaking up can feel uncomfortable. We may worry about conflict. We may fear saying the wrong thing. We may tell ourselves it is none of our business.

But history has repeatedly shown us that silence tends to protect existing power structures more than it protects vulnerable people.

This is not about assigning blame or creating shame. Most people are doing the best they can with the awareness they have. Many of our beliefs, fears, and biases were inherited from families, communities, and cultures long before we were old enough to question them.

That reality deserves compassion.

But compassion does not relieve us of responsibility.

Growth begins when we become willing to examine the places where separation lives within us and the ways our silence may unintentionally contribute to it.

As we enter Pride Month, perhaps the invitation is not simply to celebrate diversity. Perhaps it is to look honestly at where we have drawn lines between ourselves and others, and to ask whether those lines are serving anyone.

The opposite of othering is not agreement. It is connection.

It is the willingness to recognize ourselves in people whose lives may look very different from our own. It is choosing curiosity over judgement, understanding over assumption, and courage over silence.

Because in the end, every act of inclusion is a reminder of a simple but profound truth:

There are no "others."

There are only people.

And all of us belong.

May you be blessed,
Rev. Kim Etherington

There are ways of knowing that exist beyond logic.

Moments when you think of someone just before they call.
When you walk into a room and feel the energy immediately.
When a dream lingers in your body because some part of you knows it meant something.

What if intuition isnโ€™t rareโ€ฆ

What if itโ€™s remembered?

The Blue Moon has long been associated with rare openings, heightened perception, and the unseen spaces just beyond ordinary awareness.

For this special edition of our Deep Trance Experience, we will journey through the Third Eye and into the deeper layers of intuitive perception through guided trance meditation.

Together we will explore:
โ€ข Expanded states of awareness
โ€ข The filters of the conscious mind
โ€ข Symbolic vision and inner imagery
โ€ข Energetic sensing
โ€ข Psychic connection and intuitive knowing
โ€ข The โ€œforgotten sensesโ€ that may already exist within you

This experience is not about performance or proving psychic ability.

It is about becoming still enough to notice what has been quietly speaking beneath the noise all along.

No experience needed.
Just openness, curiosity, and a willingness to explore beyond the ordinary.
