Proud mom moment this week 🏆 Audrey was co-selected as Player of the Year for the U14 Georgian Bay Titans Rugby team, alongside her teammate Madeleine.

Coach Virginia’s (Gin_g)dedication to both athletes said it all, recognizing Audrey’s fierce determination and her ability to forge ahead when challenged. Respectful on the field too, even if her feet need the occasional reminder 😉

After the banquet, Audrey talked about what an honour it was to share this with Madeleine, who she described as incredibly nice and respectful of other players and her teammates.

Huge thank you to Coach Virginia and Coach Chad for an amazing season, and congratulations on being named Coaches of the Year!

Tonight’s run turned into a field trip! We wandered off course and found ourselves on the Heather Pathway boardwalk, taking in stunning South Georgian Bay views. Bonus: we learned all about Imperial Moths. Our Route Master Leigh always finds the good stuff. 🦋

Today I’m proud to share that Audrey’s U14 Georgian Bay Titans Rugby team is headed to the Provincial Championship after a victory at Regionals today!

Audrey puts her heart and soul into rugby and leaves everything she’s got on the pitch. She’s a strong, spirited player with never-ending grit.

I was on the sidelines today when she scored a try after running three-quarters the length of the field, with players clinging to her and falling off as she pushed through. She crossed the line, looked back with a proud face, and found me watching.

Tears of pride, sitting there alone on the sideline.

So proud of her fearlessness. Congratulations, Audrey, you make me so proud!

It’s one month until Run for Her on Saturday, Sept 12 @ Three Stage Trails, Collingwood.

This will be my 4th year on the trail, and I’ve been on the committee since it started. This year, I’m running for Christy.

I met her in 2024, full of energy, undergoing treatment, and somehow still glowing with enthusiasm for the event. We were out on a training run last spring, and learned that she passed in March. She was only 53.

I’m writing Christy’s story right now for Run for Her, and before it goes live, I wanted to share why this cause has my whole heart, why I keep showing up on the trail before sunrise, and why “share-joy” is the word I’m carrying with me this year.

Her son explained the phrase that summed up how she lived: share-joy. It was on her business cards. It was everything she did.
We all have our reasons to run, this one feels real and special to me.

Happy long weekend, everybody! Hope you’re soaking up the start of August. ☀️

The Dry Run Club is getting excited for our most-loved event of the year — the Mocktail Mile, October 17!

This shot is from Bar Gondola, stop 3 on the route, where you’ll sip curated mocktails with a retro après-ski vibe.

Registration is open at DryRunClub.ca (link in bio). We’re an Road & Trail Division of Athletics Ontario sanctioned event, so look for the member link at checkout if you’re not already signed up.

Cheers to the long weekend — and to your good health!

Hot night, great company. 🌙
Ran the 6.5km Southshore loop with the barriefundayrunclub — waterfront views for days and a relaxed cruiser pace. Love linking up with different corners of the running community.

Ready for a new Operation Love Yourself Challenge! 💜

Operation Love Yourself is a 10 or 30 day commitment to cutting back on a habit that doesn’t serve you and replacing it with a new, healthy habit or practice.

Leigh Gallant is a dedicated Dry Run Club member who’s been active since the start - a determined trail runner known for continuously challenging herself in races of 25+ distances. She and her daughter Minka just started their own 30-day weight lifting challenge together, called Squatober. On top of her runs, she’s staying accountable with Minka - she even snuck in a workout after our Friday night Dry Run!

I’m inspired by Leigh and Minka, so I’m starting my own Operation Love Yourself Challenge for 30 days. I’m replacing screen time with strength training.

I hope you’ll join us in your own challenge! Visit dryrunclub.ca for details on Operation Love Yourself. DM me and I’ll sign you up and send you a printed or digital journal to track your success.

Operation Love Yourself is made possible by the CGMH Foundation’s Wellness Innovation Fund.

Cutting back on alcohol is encouraged in the journal, but you’re welcome to use it for any type of habit change.

Looking forward to hearing from you! 💜

Big news, runners! The Mocktail Mile on Saturday October 17, is officially sanctioned by Road & Trail Division of Athletics Ontario!

That means new safety standards and provincial-level exposure for our little event with a lot of heart.

Spots are limited so grab yours before they’re gone. 🍸🏃🏻‍♀️🍸

Tonight we kicked things off at Endswell Beer, our host venue — serving up your final mocktails on event day, with slices from Later Pizza to fuel the finish.

This week we’ll be stopping by each of our route venues to introduce you properly — keep an eye out!

A scheduling update: I’ve made the decision to drop the Sunday run from the Dry Run Club schedule to prioritize family time this summer.

Friday night runs stay right where they are, 6pm, and we can’t wait to keep making the most of this season together.

I know a lot of you have trail runs and road races coming up. We’re always here to help with training schedules, cross-training ideas, and trail run recommendations, just reach out. 💜

Thank you for your understanding and for showing up for your own healthy outlets. That’s what this club is built on.

See you Friday 🏃🏃🏻‍♀️
