You may be capable of handling a lot.
Perhaps people know they can rely on you. You solve problems, take responsibility, step in when something needs to be done, and somehow find a way to keep going.
But have you ever noticed how easily being capable can turn into being expected?
Someone needs help, and you know you could help.
Something needs to be done, and you know you could do it.
A responsibility has been left unattended, and you know you could pick it up.
But perhaps there is another question worth asking:
Is this actually mine to carry?
Your ability to do something doesn't automatically make it your responsibility.
You might become curious about where “I can” has quietly become “I have to,” and whether that expectation is coming from someone else—or from within you.
There may be strength in following through on what truly belongs to you.
And there may be just as much strength in leaving something for another person to carry themselves.
What are you carrying simply because you know you can? ❤️
