Welcome! A neighbouring film festival 😎

What if this is where it starts?

At Forks Film Festival, we’re building a space for filmmakers at every level, from first-time storytellers and emerging voices to established creators. A space where we can meet, share, and grow together.

We’re especially passionate about seeing more stories from the Kootenays on screen. This is a place rooted in community, creativity, and connection.

Set in beautiful Grand Forks, surrounded by stunning landscapes, and supported by a welcoming local community, this is more than just a festival. It’s a starting point.

🎬 Submissions are now open! Link in bio.

Early bird deadline: April 10th.

The best time to start is now! 🍴✨

One-Day Filmmaking Workshop

Shoot Like a Pro With What You’ve Got

Ever wanted to make a short film but thought you needed fancy gear or years of experience? You don’t.

In one day, we’ll plan, shoot, edit, and screen a 5-minute short film using simple tools (yes, your phone). You’ll be part of every step of the process — storytelling, acting, filming, sound, lighting, directing, and editing.

The workshop is instructed by Saro Boghozian, filmmaker of the locally made film Shared Dream, and is designed to be practical, relaxed, and beginner-friendly.
