What did I do yesterday? After my regular PEMF sessions... I PEMF'd a wild crow. 🖤
Meet Marshall.
I've known Marshall and his companion, Blinky, for about a year now.
It all started two years ago when I would hide treats around the backyard for my dog, Lucky, to find. Before long, the neighborhood crows figured out the game. They'd swoop in, watch Lucky search for his treats, and every now and then, they'd beat him to one.
Over time, the flock came and went, but Marshall and Blinky were the two who kept returning. These days, they're the only ones who still stop by regularly. After watching them over the past year, I've come to know their individual mannerisms and can easily tell them apart.
Marshall has this confident little strut. He puffs up his head and chest and walks along the railing like a little boss. He also likes to hop onto the corner post and stare at me through the window while I'm having my morning tea. ❤️ That usually means he'd like a cashew.
Blinky is a bit more cautious, earning her name because she often has her right eye partially closed or squinting. (Yes, now I'd like to PEMF her too. 😅)
A few days ago, I noticed Marshall repeatedly lifting his right foot and walking with a noticeable limp. Since I've had success with birds in the past (most notably Chuck the rooster and Piper the duck), I placed one of my PEMF mats outside and let him investigate it at his own pace. With the help of a few crushed-up cashews, he stood on it for about a minute, flew away, then came back and stood on it for another minute before taking off again.
The next day, he wasn't lifting that foot nearly as much. I only saw him do it once, whereas the two days before, it had been happening every few seconds. I was so happy to see him standing and walking more comfortably.
Of course, I can't say for certain why he improved. Wild animals recover from injuries all the time, and this is just one observation. But after getting to know Marshall over the past year, it was incredible to witness, and it felt like a story worth sharing.
Has anyone else formed an unexpected friendship with a wild animal? I'd love to hear your story. ❤️
