Still Waters Breathwork About Carrie-Ann

Carrie-Ann Harper is a Certified Somatic Breathwork Practitioner with a background in rehabilitation, recreation, and private health care.

After the loss of her son in 2024, she found healing and renewal through Somatic Breathwork — learning to breathe again, to release, and to come home to herself. Her work now centers on helping others regulate their nervous systems, reconnect with their authentic selves, and rediscover a sense of peace within. Carrie-Ann’s approach is gentle, grounded, and compassionate — inviting each person to remember their own capacity with honour.
— a reminder that healing is not about fixing what is broken, but remembering what has always been whole.

🍫🎃 HALLOWEEN REMINDER: Do you know what’s in your chocolate?

When I was a child, we worried about razor blades in apples and candy that had been tampered with. Today, we have new reasons to pay attention to what we’re buying and feeding our families.

🍫 Start by reading the ingredients!

Traditional chocolate is made using ingredients such as cocoa mass, cocoa butter, milk and sugar. But recipes can vary, and it’s worth knowing what goes into the treats we enjoy.

🔬 Some companies are investing in new chocolate-making technologies, including cultivated cocoa ingredients. It’s worth understanding these developments and knowing what you’re actually buying.

This Halloween, take a closer look at the labels on your favourite chocolate products. Ingredients can vary between products and countries, so don’t assume they’re all the same!

💙 Coming back to yourself means becoming more aware of the little things, too.

What we eat, what we feed our children, and the choices we make every day are all part of caring for ourselves.

🎃 YOUR HALLOWEEN CHALLENGE: Before you buy your chocolate, turn the package over and read the ingredients!

👇 Have you checked your favourite chocolate lately? What did you find?

Autumn reminds us that we don’t have to hold onto everything.

Slow down.
Step outside.
Practice gratitude.

And perhaps most importantly — come back to the present moment.

For me, breathwork became a way of doing exactly that.

When grief, stress and anxiety had my mind caught between what had already happened and what might happen next, I found myself living everywhere except right here.

Breathwork helped me reconnect with my body, my breath and this moment.

Not changing the past.
Not trying to control the future.
Just breathing… and coming back to now.

Sometimes well-being doesn’t have to mean doing more.

Sometimes it means pausing long enough to notice where you are. 🤍

What would you choose today — slowing down, stepping outside, or practising gratitude?

🌿

Save this post for a gentle Autumn reminder, and share it with someone who could use a little more breathing room.

If you’re ready to explore how breathwork can help you reconnect with yourself and the present moment, I’d love to breathe with you.

🍂 Sometimes, beauty isn’t missing. We’re just moving too fast to notice it.

The changing colours of the leaves. The crisp autumn air. Nature letting go and making space for what comes next.

There is beauty in every season, but sometimes we need to slow down to truly see it. 💛

If life has you rushing, feeling overwhelmed, or disconnected from the present moment, take a breath. Come back to yourself. Reconnect with the beauty that’s already here.

🌿 Not sure how to slow down? Join me for a Somatic Breathwork session and give yourself the space to pause, regulate your nervous system, and reconnect with the present moment.

✨ Your breath knows the way.

“Why can’t I just relax?”

Sometimes “relaxing” isn’t as simple as deciding to slow down.

When your nervous system has spent a long time feeling like it needs to be ready for the next problem, your body can stay on alert—even when you’re finally safe.

It can look like:

• Checking your phone over and over
• Replaying conversations in your head
• Jumping at noises
• Feeling uneasy when things are quiet
• Always needing a plan
• Having trouble sitting still
• Feeling guilty for resting
• Being exhausted… but unable to switch off

That constant state of scanning and preparing can be hypervigilance.

And no, it doesn’t mean you’re “too sensitive” or that you’re bad at relaxing.

Sometimes your body simply learned that being alert was how you survived.

Somatic breathwork can help you begin reconnecting with your body, noticing what it’s holding, and create a life where your nervous system is regulated.

You don’t have to force yourself to relax.

Start with one breath.

🌊 If this sounds familiar, save this post or send it to someone who needs the reminder.
