21 DAY SUNRISE CHALLENGE
Tomorrow we begin via zoom.
For the first few days we’ll be meeting on Zoom. The weather doesn’t look like it’s going to let up, and starting online gives us a little more ease as we settle into this new rhythm together.
I’ve always been drawn to sunrise practice. There is something powerful about greeting the day before the world wakes up, before your mind has something to say. From a health perspective, early morning light helps regulate our circadian rhythm, supports better sleep, improves energy, and helps bring balance to the nervous system. Even a few minutes of morning sunlight can have a profound effect on our mood and wellbeing.
Sunrise has long been considered a sacred time for practice. The mind is quieter, the senses are sharper, and the world feels more open. Moving through Sun Salutations as the light emerges, the practice becomes an act of participation rather than preparation. You’re not simply getting ready for the day, you’re meeting it as it unfolds.
these practices are powerful on their own but there is something transformative about doing them in community. Knowing others are waking up alongside you, breathing, moving, and sharing a sense of belonging that can be hard to find in our busy lives.
