SHE'S STILL IN THERE. THE WOMAN YOU USED TO BE.

Somewhere between raising families, building careers, navigating relationships, surviving difficult seasons, and simply trying to keep up with life, we sometimes lose touch with parts of ourselves.

The dreamer. The free spirit. The woman who once knew exactly what she wanted before she became so accustomed to asking what everyone else needed.

But here's what I've come to believe...

She isn't gone. She's simply been waiting for you to make room for her again. 🤎

Today, I'm so excited to share something I've poured my heart into.

FINDING YOURSELF AGAIN: A Guided Reflection Journal

Created for every woman who's spent so much of her life showing up for everyone else.

Inspired by the lessons life has taught me, the quiet wisdom I've found alongside my horses, and my belief that self-discovery doesn't have to begin with something being wrong.

This journal is an invitation to slow down. To ask yourself the questions you may have stopped asking. To explore your boundaries, reconnect with your own voice, remember your strengths, and rediscover the parts of yourself that life may have pushed aside.

Inside: five chapters of guided reflections, meaningful prompts, and gentle Braver Ground Pauses.

No pressure. No perfect answers. Just space for you.

Because you can love the life you've built and still want to find more of yourself within it.

It's not about becoming someone new. It's about honouring the woman you've become while making room for the woman you've always been.

And you deserve a place in your own life, too.

I'm so proud to finally share this with you. Not just as a journal, but as a little piece of Braver Ground you can bring into your own home, wherever you are.

🌿 IT'S OFFICIALLY HERE!

It's a digital download, so you can begin right away, at your own pace.

To celebrate the launch, it's just $19 (regularly $24) until October 22.

A small investment in something we so often put last: ourselves.

Your journey back to yourself begins here. Link in bio.

With love,
Sunshine

There is nothing quite like sitting with my Naya.

She is beautiful to look at, yes—but it’s her presence that gets me every time.

Naya is my lead mare. She holds a quiet kind of power. Dominant, but calm. Graceful, yet fearless. She doesn’t need to demand attention or prove who she is. She simply knows.

And I am always in awe of her.

She was the very first horse here to truly grace me with her presence, and from the beginning there was an immediate intimacy between us. A bond that felt almost instant.

She has also quietly watched me find my place on this farm.

She has let me make mistakes. She has let me misunderstand, learn, adjust and figure things out in my own time. And even in those moments, she stayed steady.

She never faltered.

She never made me feel like I had lost her trust simply because I was still learning who I was here.

There is something incredibly humbling about being accepted by a mare like her.

And when I look at Naya, I see so much of her family in her.

She carries that same steady presence I see in her brother Maximus, my lead gelding. I see pieces of her mother, Sapphire, and her father, King, too.

They are such a beautiful family—strong, wise, grounded, each with their own presence, yet connected in a way you can feel.

And somehow, I get to stand among them.

Naya is my riding partner, my steady friend, and one of those souls I feel deeply blessed to walk beside.

There is something comforting about being near a being who carries so much strength without needing to be loud about it.

My beautiful Naya. 🤎

And this beautiful family of hers… I feel incredibly blessed to be part of it.

Maximus and I shared one of those quiet moments that is almost impossible to explain unless you’ve experienced it.

He stood peacefully beside me, eyes closed, breathing deeply. There was no asking anything of one another. No training. No agenda. Just stillness.

Spiritually, I experience moments like this as an exchange of energy — two beings meeting one another fully, becoming quiet enough to feel the connection that already exists between them.

Science might use different words.

It speaks about attunement, nervous-system regulation and physiological synchrony. Horses are constantly reading the beings around them — our breathing, posture, movement, tension and emotional state. Research has even shown that human and equine heart-rate variability can become physiologically coupled during interaction.

In simpler words: our nervous systems can communicate long before words ever could.

And perhaps that is where science and spirituality aren’t actually so far apart.

I don’t need to claim that I know exactly what Maximus was thinking. I don’t.

But I do know what he showed me.

A prey animal, our herd leader, chose to become deeply still beside me. He softened his body, closed his eyes and breathed.

To me, that is trust.

Maybe spirituality calls it energy.
Maybe science calls it co-regulation.

I think sometimes they’re simply two different languages trying to describe the same extraordinary thing. .humans.healing 🙏🏽

There’s just something about cool, crisp fall mornings. 🍂

The colours.
The quiet.
That golden morning light.
The way the air feels different somehow.

Everything slows down just enough to notice how damn beautiful it all is.

I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of mornings like this. 🤎🍁

💙 Blue found his people 💙

Our sweet Beau — now Blue— has officially found his family. 🥹

He’ll be heading off to beautiful BC, where he’ll have 10 acres to explore and, more importantly, two kids to grow up with and love the heck out of him.

Beau has always been such a sweet, handsome little guy, and seeing him curled up with his new people makes saying goodbye just a little bit easier.

This is the part of raising puppies that gets me every damn time. We pour so much love into them while they’re here, knowing from the beginning that eventually they’re meant to become somebody else’s dog, best friend, hunting buddy, adventure partner, or childhood companion.

And I have a feeling Blue is about to be all of those things. 💙

Congratulations to Blue’s new family. We’re so excited to watch this little Chessie grow up surrounded by kids, land, adventure, and a whole lot of love.

Go live your best life, Blue. You picked yourself a good one. 🐾💙

This is the part of farm life people don’t always see.

We share the births.
The babies.
The funny moments.
The beautiful sunsets.
The chaos.
The stories that make this life feel so damn special.

But there are other stories too.

The ones where you sit on a floor holding a little life, knowing something isn’t right.

The ones where you rush to the vet hoping for answers.

The ones where the answers aren’t what you wanted.

Today, we lost this little guy.

There is something I do with the animals I love.

When they are born, I sing them “You Are My Sunshine.”

And when it is time for them to leave this world, I sing it again.

Maybe it’s silly. Maybe it isn’t.

But I like to believe that somewhere in them, they remember that sound. That it connects the beginning of their life to the end. That in those final moments, there is something familiar there. Something safe.

A little reminder of love.

A little reminder that their life mattered.

A little comfort as they make whatever transition comes next.

Today, I sang it to him one last time.

He had been breathing heavily and wasn’t eating well. At the vet we learned there were some very serious possibilities, and we made the incredibly difficult decision to let him go peacefully.

He passed during the sedation.

And somehow, that told me everything I needed to know about just how tired his little body already was.

Farm life is beautiful, but it is not always gentle.

When you live with animals, you get the privilege of witnessing life in its purest form — birth, growth, connection, trust, instinct, resilience.

But you also witness loss.

And sometimes it fu***ng hurts.

I think we sometimes romanticize farm life because so much of it truly is magical.

But the truth is, loving this many animals means eventually having your heart broken by some of them too.

Still, we love them.

Still, we show up.

Still, we choose this life.

Because every single one of them matters.

Even the ones whose story was much shorter than we ever wanted it to be. 🤍 BraverGround

Before you call it woo-woo… watch him.

This is Maximus, the leader of our herd.

He is the one the others look to for steadiness. He holds trust in this herd, and over time, he has accepted me into it too.

And yesterday, he did something I can’t stop thinking about.

I have been pouring everything I have into Braver Ground.

Into bringing purpose back to this herd.
Into creating something meaningful here.
Into trusting a vision that sometimes feels so big I question whether I’m actually capable of bringing it to life.

Then Maximus walked over.

He placed his muzzle right at my sacral chakra — the energetic centre associated with creativity, emotion, passion and creation.

And he stayed there.

Then he moved lower.

To the root.

Home.
Safety.
Foundation.
Belonging.

And what I felt in that moment was:

This is home.
This is where it’s going to happen.

Then, slowly, he began moving upward again.

Until he reached my face… my third eye.

The energetic centre associated with intuition, inner knowing and vision.

And I swear, without a single word, the message I felt was:

I trust your vision.
Stop questioning it.
See it through.

Now listen…

I know some people will call this coincidence.
Some will call it projection.
Some will call the whole chakra thing woo-woo.

That’s okay.

But watch the video.

Watch how slowly he moves.
Watch where he pauses.
Watch the intention in his presence.

And more importantly…

notice what you feel while you watch it.

Because horses communicate constantly without language.

And sometimes, when we get quiet enough, we understand them without needing words at all.

Yesterday, Maximus reminded me of something I desperately needed to hear:

You already know where you’re going.
Now build the damn thing.

Braver Ground is home. 🤎

And maybe this is your reminder too.

If there is something in your life you keep feeling called toward, something you can see so clearly but keep second-guessing… maybe you don’t need another sign.

Maybe you just need to trust what you already know.

And if this spoke to something in you, I’d love to know what you felt when you watched.

There’s something about a horse choosing to come close that just hits different.

No asking.
No forcing.
No pretending.

Just this quiet little moment where they decide you’re safe enough to be near. 🤍

And yes… sometimes they also invade your personal space like they pay the damn mortgage. 😂

But this is the part of horses I will never get over.

They notice us.
They feel the shift in us.
They respond to things we haven’t even put into words yet.

This is so much of what Braver Ground is about — slowing down enough to notice what’s happening inside of you, and allowing the horse to simply meet you there.

No riding.
No performance.
No need to have your s**t together.

Just connection. 🌾🐴
