Yes… you DO deserve a life that feels as beautiful on the INSIDE… as it looks from the outside.
Social media has people putting their best face forward.
All these ads about making a million dollars using AI, or join their program to have “this” life.
But we don’t really see the struggles or anxiety that is happening INSIDE these people as they work to keep the flow happening.
Social media makes it too easy to keep the comparison wheel turning.
I often wake up with anxiety but lucky for me I have the tools of Reiki and tapping plus… gratitude mantras, to change my energy around.
I will say again, and again… it takes intention, focus, awareness and determination to bring JOY in everyday!
The outside mirrors the inside.
As the saying goes, It’s an inside job.

8 Ways to Bring More Joy Into Your Life

1. Notice the little things.
A cup of tea. Sunshine through the tress. A bird in the garden. Joy often arrives quietly.

2. Make ordinary moments special.
Use the pretty dishes. Light the candle. Stop saving everything for “someday.”

3. Follow what feels good.
Read the book. Take the walk. Put on the music. Give yourself permission to enjoy what you enjoy.

4. Get curious.
Try something new-even if you’re not good at it.

5. Spend time in nature.
Step outside. Feel the air. Look at the trees. Let nature remind you that life is always changing.

6. Connect with someone.
Send the text. Invite someone for tea. Have the conversation. Joy grows when it’s shared.

7. Create something.
Cook. Garden. Write. Paint. Sew. Rearrange a room. Creativity isn’t about being “good.” It’s about being alive.

8. Choose joy on purpose.
Not everyday will feel joyful. But everyday can hold a tiny moment that you intentionally notice, welcome and savour.

You don’t have to reinvent your life to bring more joy into it. Sometimes you just have to notice what’s already there!

I’m doing this!
I’m in my 70’s and last week I joined a 21-day social media content challenge led by a young man Jun Yuh | Personal Branding & Content Strategy who can edit a video faster than I can find the button.

*️⃣The pace is fast. The terminology is sometimes foreign. And just when I think I’ve figured something out… there’s another technique I’m to learn.

*️⃣There have definitely been moments of staring at my computer thinking… “Seriously? How am I supposed to do that?”

*️⃣But I’m sticking with it.
I’m going to learn, experiment and let myself be a beginner at something completely new.

*️⃣And the payoff? It’s being proud of myself for showing up.

*️⃣I want to become more visible- not to prove anything, but because I want other elder women to see what’s possible.
We are not too old to learn.
We are not too old to be seen.

*️⃣ We are the ones carrying the stories. The lessons. The experience. The wisdom.
We have something worth sharing!

*️⃣ So here I go…
21 days of learning.
21 days of trying.
21 days of probably getting frustrated.
21 days of putting myself out there… yikes.
And 21 days or reminding myself:
I’m still growing.
I’m still learning.
And I’m still shining.

Your Monday joy awareness… What made you smile this past weekend? Even for just a moment?
For me, it was being out on a clear sunny morning and not having anyone watch me trying to set up my tripod, then manoeuvre myself up in the tree to take my picture. 😂 Yes.. I smiled and laughed out loud all the while feeling proud of myself. I’m getting ready for the Joy Architect class and I’m here to remind you to bring some joy into everyday.

Living alone means I get to decide what comes into my kitchen- and what doesn’t.
•Sometimes the healthiest choice isn’t about a diet or a number on the scale. It’s simply asking “What will make my body feel good?”
•Today I looked at the soda… and chose lemon 🍋 + ginger 🫚 water instead.
•Small choices. Every day. That’s how we take care of the woman we are becoming.
•Not punishment. Not deprivation. Just choosing to feel good in the body I’ve got.

It isn’t really about the dishes, towels, candles or “things.”
It’s about no longer postponing your own life.

1. For a long time, I saved things for “someday.”
Somehow I had decided they were meant for someone else’s arrival, rather than my own everyday life.

2. I am learning I AM WORTHY of the good stuff now.

3. Everyday doesn’t have to be extraordinary to be special- sometimes it’s simply tea in a pretty cup, fresh sheets, flowers on the table, or wearing the outfit I was saving.

I’m trading scarcity for abundance and “someday” for TODAY!
Because why wait for someone else’s arrival to come along before I make my own life special?
