It’s been awhile but I wanted to share something I do each year for myself. Instead of making New Year’s resolutions, I love choosing one WORD with intention for the year ahead.
I was introduced to the Word of the Year concept several years ago, and now it’s something my whole family enjoys doing together. It’s such a meaningful (and fun!) way to set the tone, intention, and overall theme for the year.
Resolutions are often made because we think we should make them — and let’s be honest, most are forgotten by mid-January. Choosing a word is different. A word becomes a guide. A focus. A way of being. It shapes how you move through your days rather than adding pressure to “fix” yourself.
My One Word Intention is a simple experiment:
Let go of the long list of changes and choose ONE WORD.
Just one word that reflects who you want to be, how you want your year to feel, and the energy you want to bring into the next twelve months.
Write your word on a pretty notecard and place it somewhere you’ll see it daily — your bathroom mirror, car visor, office wall, or even wear it as a bracelet or piece of jewelry. Let it be a gentle reminder of your intention all year long. ♥️
