Learning emotional boundaries for yourself is one of the hardest things to do as an Empath who struggles with codependency.

It takes practice and requires changes to your thinking.

Taking on others peoples guilt or judgement as your own has left you unable to decipher between healthy and unhealthy guilt.

It will take a while to reprogram your belief systems into one where you no longer think that taking care of your own needs are selfish.

When your feelings arise what do you think about them?

Do you judge your feelings?

Do you blame others for your feelings?

Or do you take responsibility for your feelings and offer yourself loving kindness?

You might ask, well what about love or happiness. And I will tell you just like all feelings love and happiness don’t last forever either.

We can learn to accept all feelings equally and have an intention to learn about what our feelings are telling us.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed it’s likely that you haven’t been tuning into your needs.

Learn to be still and listen to yourself with compassion and a nonjudgmental attitude.

Then you will be open to learning and connecting with your true self instead of abandoning and neglecting your inner child which is that feelings part of you.

Yes “sitting” with our feelings is recommended but HOW do you do that?

By giving them space to be heard, validated, understood and held.

Even more importantly, your feelings need to move!
That’s because E-Motions = Energy in Motion.

Music, Movement, Mindfulness and challenging your Mindset are all important aspects to consider when tuning into your emotions.

Journaling and talking to yourself as if you’re a loving compassionate best friend is also recommended.

Self Compassion is something that is done without needing to fix anything.

Just be with it from a non judgemental attitude is all you need to do.
Your inner child will thank you 😊🙏🏼
