Deadline Reminder: Share Your Voice by August 15, 2026
Have you or a loved one experienced care in an emergency department? Your voice can help shape meaningful change.
The Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians (CAEP) is seeking First Nations, Inuit, and Métis individuals from across Turtle Island to help develop national recommendations to address Indigenous-specific racism and advance culturally safe, equitable emergency care.
Led by an Indigenous emergency physician, this collaborative initiative will bring together Indigenous community members, emergency physicians, researchers, and learners to develop a national position statement that will help guide improvements in emergency care across Canada.
Who can participate?
First Nations, Inuit, and Métis individuals who have accessed emergency care, or whose family members or loved ones have accessed emergency care.
What is involved?
- Participate in approximately 4 to 6 virtual meetings over 4 to 6 months.
- Meetings will last approximately 2 to 3 hours.
- Review materials in advance and contribute your perspectives to collaborative discussions.
- Help develop national recommendations that will guide emergency care across Canada.
Participants will receive financial compensation for their time and contributions. Participation is voluntary, and you may withdraw at any time. Please note that spaces are limited, and expressing interest does not guarantee participation.
