An experience beyond what the eye can see...

Feeling the moment... the instant connection with the energy of the shot when your heart jumps and Soul says YES! You either feel it or you dont in the moment. If you dont, dont bother taking the shot. There wont be any life to it. That's not your moment... relax and know, its coming. In that moment, however, when you DO feel the connection, the next s

tep is to choose the settings... not by thinking, rather, you choose by instinct. Again, you go by feel. Its beyond the mind. So, DONT THINK... JUST FEEL

Before you know it your finger presses down while your heart jumps. You've captured the image... NOW the fun begins

Of course you can use a well executed shot just as is and sometimes I do... but more often than not, I like to take the experience further into to the art process of digital play, which is just another method for artistic meditation. Just as I've never endeavored to create realism in my paintings, I rarely keep an image as a mirror image of what I've seen. Rather, in meditative photography and painting, we move one step further into the essence of the image... the light within, the sound of the colors, the vibration of the texture. What does the image want to say? Of course there's more to the process than this, but now you've got a glimpse into how I create what you see here (and what you hopefully feel)

Essence and Energy... that's what its all about! The image itself is secondary to the way it makes you FEEL. Can you feel it bringing your own creative energy to the surface? This process is not just meant for art by the way. "Going by FEEL" can apply to all parts of life. Its how we can make our experience in this world a living MASTERPIECE. May the Blessings BE!

I have been sooooo busy with my bulldog puppies that I have not taken much time to stop and smell the flowers, until today. Thankfully I had my phone on me. Not bad quality from the iPhone 6s plus. This makes it much easier to capture the moment anytime, even when I dont have my big cameras with me.

Lightning and moon... visiting the past, guided and guarded every step of the way.
(A whole lot different than living in the past)

During my contemplation this morning I was reminded of this painting that I did about nine years ago.
So many paintings completed, sold and forgotten... left in the past.
I am grateful for the opportunity to remember this one today. It means even more to me now than it did back then.

What is meditative photography? An experience beyond what the eye can see...
