In a book called Shamanic Awakening, I read some thoughtful words about the importance of feeding our children's imagination. It said, "although the imagination is one of the most magical characteristics of being human, children are socialized in believing imaginary friends exist only in fantasy. Their sensitivities to and their awareness of unseen worlds are called into question."
Children who can imagine a castle out of blankets over the chairs, can tell you exactly where the bridge and the gate are. If you step in the wrong place, they’ll let you know there’s lava there.
Our imagination is our Superpower. Just think of kids who fill their time with their devices. They often are unable to imagine ways to play on their own. We need to continue playing in the arena of the unknown and imagination. Joy and fun are such great connector.
Their imagination can be amazing when we nourish and nurture it. This is one of the ways of helping our children to become a Visionary, an Inventor. They will know the possibilities are endless!
