Our First FREE Mother’s Circle! 🌸
Friday July 11 from 10:30-11:30am

(You are invited to arrive at 10am for tea and chat beforehand!)

Offering a space for mothers to come together in person and share mutual support and upliftment along their parenting journey. Each month will offer a loose discussion theme - but all topics are welcomed and held within the circle. 💞

Take note that this is not a therapy session, but a facilitated peer support group. 🙏🏼

Everyone is welcome - including those who are expecting but haven’t yet given birth.

While this is a FREE offering, pre-registration is required, so we know how many to prepare for, and also because space is limited.

Babies and children are very welcome; however, if you have access to support for toddlers and older children during this time, it may allow YOU more space to receive the nourishment and support you need during our circle time.

For any inquiries or to save your spot, please email [email protected] (or DM us here) with :
your name AND the names and ages of any children or babies attending with you.

Facilitated by Megan Burnside

Having a newborn baby can be a beautiful time, but it can also be a challenging time of healing, changing emotions, and adjusting to a new way of life with a baby.

About one month after a client has a baby, we schedule a postpartum wellness check for her. This is a way for us to touch base with mom and meet the baby. During this appointment, clients fill out the Edinburgh test to assess if they are at risk for postpartum depression. If they are at risk, we refer them to the Women's Wellness Centre, their family doctor, or other mental health support. We continue to provide support to parents until their baby is 36 months old. 🩵

If you are expecting a baby or have had a baby recently and are looking for support, you can contact us at 902-370-3700 (Charlottetown) or 902-916-6884 (Summerside).

I offer hands on newborn care, postpartum recovery care and knowledge, non-judgemental emotional support and companionship, breastfeeding and formula feeding support, light household chores, and so much more!

I help with small things to make you feel refreshed, caught up, and confident in your transition to adding a new family member.

Sometimes that means a shower and a nap while I tidy and look after baby, or it might be a comforting chat over tea/coffee.

Postpartum can feel like a very vulnerable time. You may feel lonely and misunderstood. During a time that your new baby is the one that’s front and centre, I am here to nurture the mother, and offer the support one needs for a smooth transition.

Sometimes we just need someone who “ GET’S IT!”. All the raw emotions, and what you are going through physically and mentally.

Lending library 📚

Happy to have a small ( and growing ) collection of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum books to share with those wanting to read them, without purchasing! Many of these books I wasn’t able to find in a library when I went looking for myself.

Pregnancy, birth & postpartum are seasons that are temporary, but the impact lasts forever. Educating yourself by reading books, is just a small step in helping you feel more prepared.
I’m here to help discuss your birth plan, postpartum plan, and support you along the way as well. ❤️

A favourite book of mine from here is Ina May’s guide to childbirth. It is filled with birth stories that remind us how powerful, capable, and amazing we truly are!

-If anything catches your eye that you’d like to borrow, please feel free to message me!
-If you have any books you’d like to donate, or have for sale that aren’t already here. I’d love to chat.

Hi and welcome to Beyond Birth with me, Courtney!

I am beyond excited to be able to offer families that " village " and support that we all know is so lacking in this day and age! I look forward to bringing you knowledge, support, understanding, and a few peaceful moments for yourself to feel rejuvenated 😉

As of mother 4 and someone who carried as a surrogate, I know the postpartum stage very well. Having had very little family support myself, I fully understand what a journey it can be.
I live in Prince Edward Island and if you are from here you can likely agree we have very little supports we can turn towards once we transition to the postpartum stage. Which is what lead me to becoming a Postpartum Doula! I am here to bridge that gap and make your transition easier. Normalizing the fourth trimester and all that comes with it.

My goal is to support families in this big transition of life, adding a sweet new addition. I'm here for you if it is your 1st child or your 4th , if you've given birth, adopted, used a gestational carrier, or are fostering. Your family dynamics are changing and I'm here to help you feel confident and more rested in this journey!

I look forward to sharing your journey with you, and having a safe place here to share information that will help you feel more confident that you are not alone 💕

My inbox is always open for any questions.
