What Happens During Soap Curing

Soap changes quite a bit during the curing process.

Over several weeks:

• water slowly evaporates
• the bar becomes harder
• the lather becomes creamier
• the soap becomes milder

This slow transformation is one of the reasons well-cured soap feels noticeably different from freshly made bars.

Good things really do take time.
