✨WE’RE GOING ON HOLIDAYS!✨

And by we, I mostly mean me. 😂

After a very full summer of shop days, crafting things, packing things, planning things, rebranding things, growing things, markets and things... and generally having about 47 tabs open in my brain at all times, I am taking a little break.

I’m packing up the ole camper, Wilma, and heading for the mountains, trees and lakes. Giving myself a few days to do absolutely nothing productive. Wander quiet trails. Build a fire. Drink tea outside on the dock. Soak in the hot springs. Maybe enjoy a scotch at an unreasonable hour. You know, important work.

HOLIDAY SHOP HOURS:

The shop will be in good hands with Mama D while I’m gone, and then I’ll be back, hopefully still feral, but well rested and ready for the VERY exciting season ahead.

Thanks for keeping this little wild dream going, and for allowing its maker to occasionally disappear into the woods. 🤎🌲

Tucked in the sweet rolling hills of Southern Alberta, our little shop dwells.

Full of magic, gifts from the land, tools for the wild, and the kind of things that tickle that little bit of inspiration inside of you. The one that says: “go down that road, climb that mountain, wander a little farther.”

Our shop is here to support you along the journey of reconnecting to a slower way of life. To remember the skills and stories of the old ways and days. To know the plants that grow beneath our feet, to make things with our hands, to spend more time outside, and to find a little more ritual in the everyday.

Inside you’ll find our wildcrafted teas, botanical skincare and old-world remedies alongside books, leather goods, field tools, outdoor provisions, clothing and thoughtfully gathered goods for life lived a little closer to the land.

There are easier ways to make a cup of tea.
But that’s not really the point.

You find a place by the creek and set your things down beneath the trees.
Split the wood.
Then split it again.
Shave off the smallest pieces and build slowly from there.

A spark. A little smoke. A flame, if you’ve done it right.
The birds carry on above you.
The creek carries on beside you.
And for a while, your whole world becomes very small.

Keep the fire alive. Fill the kettle. Wait for the water.

There is something ancient in doing things this way. In using your hands, your greatest tools.
In knowing that warmth begins with gathering wood,
that boiling water begins with building a fire,
that a simple cup of tea can ask something of you before it gives anything back.
And maybe we need that sometimes…

To remember how good it feels to be present in our own lives.
To sit in the dirt. To smell like smoke. To listen to the water and the birds and the wind moving high through the trees.

To remember there are still places where time asks nothing of you. Where you can live slowly, on the land…

The damp earth.

There is medicine in the places that grow wild.
Yarrow from the fields.
Wild rose petals gathered in full bloom.
Calendula grown beneath the summer sun.

Slowly steeped into oil, each plant lending its own quiet medicine to Rainskin.
A cleansing ritual made from flowers, intention and the old knowing of plants…

Because there is something beautiful about caring for our skin with what grows around us. Knowing the plants. Gathering in season. Letting the land become part of the ritual…
