Who do you think is the most important member of our team?

At Bennett Village, EVERY member of our team plays a role in the care we provide each day. From our clinical staff, nurses, PSWs, to every single support role, it is the collective effort, compassion, and commitment of our entire team that creates a safe and supportive environment for our residents and their families.

For Staff Appreciation Week we made time to recognize and appreciate our AMAZING team with meals, daily surprises, and time to come together and connect (with more cake than any of us have probably had in our lifetimes lol!)

Some of the highlights were celebrating long-term service of 5, 15, 20 and even 25 years! Our Family Council hosted a thank you lunch with gifts and raffles. Our Continuous Quality Improvement Committee did sweet treats + snacks. Our Leadership team hosted a carnival themed BBQ lunch complete with snow cones, ice cream, cotton candy, and raffle draw!

You’ll work closely with our CEO and Board of Directors, help support key organizational initiatives, and play an important role in the future growth of senior care in Halton Hills.

We’re looking for someone who is:

🔹Highly organized
🔹Professional and collaborative
🔹5+ years experience supporting a CEO and Board of Directors.
🔹Passionate about meaningful community impact

Next week will be full of excitement and a whole lot of GRATITUDE as we celebrate Staff Appreciation week at Bennett Village! 🎉

Each day there will be special events, treats and surprises to show our staff how much we appreciate their dedication, their hard work, and all of the ways they care for our residents.

💙Monday: Staff Recognition Awards where we celebrate some of our 5, 10 and 20 year team members with cake, punch and treats from Latte Lane! Special thanks to Lesley Bell Consulting for sponsoring this special treat for everyone!
💙Tuesday: Our Continuous Quality Committee is hosting with sweet treats and an “All Star Showdown!”
💙Wednesday: Our Family Council is hosting a thank you lunch with gifts + raffles!
💙Thursday: Our Leadership team is hosting a carnival themed team BBQ + raffle!
💙Friday: is hosting a “Beach Bash” lunch!

It promises to be a busy week of thoughtful gestures and genuine appreciation, made even more special by the support of our community partners and families.

What do you like about living at the Bennett Centre?

“I like it. I like the company, I like the place and I like it because it’s clean, the food is delicious, all of the time. The only thing I don’t like is green pea soup - but the rest of it is gorgeous! I like the staff, I like working with them, you name the games we play - I just love them.

I do a lot of crocheting, I’m on my 35th blanket… I do a lot of puzzles and bingo and all the games that we do. They are very good to us, all the girls. And I love it here. The staff at the Bennett Centre are good girls all the time, I ask them a question and they’re there to answer you. If they can’t answer they go and get help. That’s what I like about them, they’re very, very good to me.”

Well Laura, we can’t blame you, green pea soup isn’t everyone’s favourite! We love the way residents like Laura feel about life at the Bennett Centre, we thank our dedicated staff who strive to make our residents feel right at home every day.

Did you hear? We’re pleased to share meaningful news for Halton Hills!

The Ontario government has announced funding for 32 additional long-term care beds at Bennett Village, building on the 94 already approved. This week MPP Joseph Racinsky shared the news on the future site of our new home. Once complete, the new Bennett Centre will provide care for 192 residents, helping to meet a growing need here in Halton Hills.

For our community, this means more families can keep their loved ones close to home, and more seniors can age in place with dignity, connection, and care.

Supporting our elders requires a broad community effort, family, neighbors, friends, and services, to ensure they receive dignity, connection, and care, combating isolation and easing caregiver burden...”

A few mornings each week, something special happens in our fireside lounge.

Residents gather together for physiotherapy sessions focused on gentle movement, strength, and staying active in a way that feels comfortable and supportive. It’s not just about exercise. It’s about maintaining independence, building confidence, and sharing moments together as a community.

You’ll often hear some music, encouragement, and even some laughter along the way, because here, care is about helping every resident feel their best, in ways that meet them where they are.
