PAC organized events raise much needed donations for causes in our school & in our community. We have built much needed internal programs such home reading, promoted healthy daily activities and developed a lunch program for our underprivileged kids. Some fundraising proceeds are also used towards partnerships for tuition donations to help kids in Thailand, and our annual gifts to the Canadian Ca
ncer and Diabetes Societies. Hatzic Elementary has an active parent group who make a huge difference in the lives of our students by being involved in our kid's education at home and at school. We are also fortunate to have a great Parent’s Advisory Committee that supports student learning and initiates fundraising for the identified needs and goals of our school. We created this page so parents can be further informed, to communicate programs and fundraisers and to increase dialogue about the important education of our kids. We thank you for your support and encourage you to participate with comments and feedback. Parental representation:
Parents should have the opportunity to express their views and have these taken into account on policy matters affecting the education of their children. All parents are members of the Parent Advisory Council at their child's school. The BC School Act recognises the vital role that parents play in supporting their children's learning by giving parents the right to belong to a parent advisory council in their school, and through it to advise the board, principal, and staff on any matter relating to the school. It aims to help parents to be:
Involved in their child's education and learning
Welcomed as an active participant in the life of the school
Encouraged to express their views on school education generally. These partnerships help all children become:
Successful learners
Confident individuals
Responsible citizens
Effective contributors.
