For the past 17 years, Josée has been helping patients across New Brunswick regain their ability to communicate, eat safely, and improve their quality of life as a Speech-Language Pathologist with the Extra-Mural Program. 💙
Working primarily with adults recovering from acquired conditions, she supports patients through assessment, treatment, and recovery, helping them rebuild confidence and independence along the way.
“I quickly fell in love with the profession,” says Josée. “I always knew I wanted to work in a field where I could help people. I just didn’t know it would be in a profession as varied and rewarding as speech-language pathology.”
For Josée, one of the most rewarding parts of the role is seeing the real difference that support and recovery can make in someone’s everyday life.
“Being able to radically transform the quality of life of a person affected by communication and swallowing disorders by supporting them toward recovery is incredibly rewarding,” she says.
Even after nearly two decades with EMP, her passion for the work is still going strong.
“It is an enriching job,” says Josée. “Even after many years, I am still passionate about what I do.”
Thank you, Josée, for the care, compassion, and support you provide to patients and families across New Brunswick. ✨
