Did you know that your tongue’s position might be the hidden cause of your head, neck, and shoulder discomfort?
Just like we focus on maintaining good posture for our neck and back, proper tongue posture is equally crucial for your overall alignment.
Why?
Because the position of your tongue impacts your breathing, sinuses, head, neck, and even shoulders.
When your tongue rests incorrectly, like at the bottom of your mouth or pushing against your bottom teeth, it can throw off the alignment of your jaw, neck, and even your shoulders.
This can lead to tension, uneven shoulders, and forward head posture.
The correct tongue posture is simple: Rest your tongue fully against the roof of your mouth, just behind your front teeth. Your lips should stay sealed, and your teeth should rest slightly apart, without pressure on the front teeth.
This helps create proper alignment, starting with the jaw and extending through the entire body.
