Food is a Lebanese’s most expressive language.

And probably even more so as an immigrant.
The comfort it creates is incomparable. A smell, a taste, a dish on the table and suddenly you are somewhere else entirely. Somewhere safe ♥️
And yet it is only the tip of the depth of this culture.

Every immigrant I’ve met carries threads of their culture’s blessings, especially the ones they’ve forgotten.

The warmth. The hospitality. The sarcasm. The love of community gatherings. The resilience.

But I find myself asking, and feeling it deeply.. how long can the spirit of the Lebanese endure the levels of suffering it is being asked to carry before something breaks?

And maybe more importantly, what does it mean to tend to that spirit, collectively, before it does?

A tree in a storm does not resist the wind. It bends because its roots hold.

Adaptogens work on the root system, not the branches. They do not stop life from moving you. They rather deepen what anchors you so that when the storm passes, you are still standing 🕯️


If you’re thinking of working with adaptogens or switching them up, I’ll be sharing a more detailed post on each herb soon.

So many of my clients are “doing everything right” on paper… and still feel stuck with the same symptoms 🌀
