A Little Business Update! 💚
I wanted to take a moment to share a little update about Sole Focus Foot Health and some changes I’ll be making moving forward.
As many of you know, I work a full-time job in addition to running my foot-care business. I truly love what I do, and I have always tried my best to accommodate everyone. I am willing to travel to wherever my clients need me because I understand that transportation, mobility, and access to care can be difficult for some people.
However, I also need to recognize the realities of running a small mobile business.
For example, I recently had a day with five clients, and my schedule took me to:
📍 Client 1 — CBS
📍 Client 2 — Mount Pearl
📍 Client 3 — St. John’s
📍 Client 4 — Torbay
📍 Client 5 — St. Clare’s Hospital
I am happy to travel and provide care in different communities, but days like this involve a significant amount of driving, time, fuel, and wear and tear on my vehicle — in addition to the time spent providing each foot-care appointment.
I also cannot control the increasing costs of supplies, equipment, gas, vehicle expenses, and other costs associated with running a business. While I always try to keep my prices reasonable and do what I can to help people, Sole Focus Foot Health is still a business, and I need to make a reasonable profit for the time, travel, supplies, and care I provide.
Because of this, additional travel or service fees may apply depending on the location, distance, appointment requirements, or circumstances. These fees are not meant to be unfair or unreasonable; they help cover the actual time and expenses involved in providing mobile care.
I have also made the decision to reduce the number of clients I take on. Balancing a full-time job with a growing side business has become increasingly difficult, and I want to make sure I can continue providing the level of care and attention that my clients deserve without burning myself out.
A recent experience with a client also reminded me of the importance of setting boundaries within my business. I was placed in an extremely uncomfortable situation in someone’s home and was treated disrespectfully, including being yelled at over circumstances that were completely outside of my control. That experience was difficult, and it made me realize that I need to be more intentional about protecting my time, my work, and my well-being.
I will always do my best to help people. I will always try to accommodate when I can. But I also need to make sure that my business is sustainable and that I am treated with the same respect that I give to my clients.
To all of my wonderful clients who are kind, respectful, understanding, and appreciative of the care I provide — thank you. ❤️ Your support means more than you know.
I am so grateful that I have been able to build Sole Focus Foot Health alongside my full-time career, and I look forward to continuing to provide care to the clients and communities I am able to serve.
Thank you for understanding and supporting my small business. 💚
Love, Angela
