Snow, sun and good vibes. A quick little day trip to Nordegg for a hike and some pie. The moody vibes over Abraham Lake are just 👌.

Thankful for quiet November days and old friends turned new hiking partners.

I love hiking in colder months because it's calm and quiet, and you get to see the animal tracks in the snow.

There was a lot of wild horses off the highway today, a coyote, squirrels and we got to watch a deer prance across the river into the woods and up the mountain. It was magical ✨

12 hours of driving, 2 nights, 4 friends, 1 tumbleweed, a heard of cows and the most fun18+ km, 800m elevation gain hike.

This is Crypt Lake.

You take a ferry across Waterton Lake to the trailhead , up two switchbacks, a ladder, through a tunnel, across a two foot wide ledge with a chain and to Crypt Lake that touches the US border.

On the way down we had an adventure through the wine farms, that included a random tumbleweed (which I have never seen before) and a rancher moving cows down the highway. We had to stop as they surrounded the car on their way.

We intended to go for a smaller hike this morning but we got rained on so hard yesterday our gear was still all wet this morning and it snowed overnight with below zero temps, so we came home instead.

The ferry to cross and most of the village of Waterton is closed for the season, but put this one on your list for next year!

I'm not afraid to admit I cried on this hike.

I hurt myself badly on a hike 3 years ago and since then I have struggled doing screes.

This beautiful hike had three waterfalls and three lakes, the most beautiful one being at the top of a very steep, very uncovered shale scree.

Halfway up I had a meltdown, I stopped, sat down closed my eyes for some big deep breaths.

We kept going, but I had to stop again.

Full tears this time. Luckily my hiking partner is one of my best friends and a wonderful human being. She went up a bit and noticed there was only about 15 more feet before we could start cutting across to trees.

We made it to the top and it was glorious.

Sometimes you have to be afraid and do it anyways. And it definitely helps when you have support. ❤️

Hike is Geraldine Lake, Jasper National Park. 12km that took us 6 hours. (crying, lunch and photo op time included).

Is it just me or do you lovel the end of summer? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE summer, but it's this like chill, soak it all up feeling and a bit of nostalgia.
On my walk this morning I saw this fog and it reminded me of walking to school in September.
