Good News! Rouge National Urban Park, Parks Canada is expanding in size by 50%.

The Pickering lands were expropriated 52 years ago for an airport that never materialized and many studies deemed redundant. 🚫✈️

The area is a mosaic of forests, wetlands, rural residences and Class 1 farmland that sits adjacent to RNUP and Ontario’s Greenbelt in north Pickering, east of Toronto.

And now, these lands are officially being transferred to Rouge National Urban Park—expanding it by 50%! This is a big win for nature, climate and for all the people who made it happen. 👏 👏 👏

Until Suzanne Simard (and all Indigenous peoples) the men of the forestry cabal, including government 'experts' mandated the wholesale destruction of all the trees and fauna they didn't want to grow, so their chosen single cash crop tree could be 'free'of competition...directly leading to the out of control forest fires across Canada today. Tiny forests are a wonderful idea and well-proven internationally. Community collaboration can be really impactful.

They transformed a 200m2 area at the Calgary Centre for Spiritual Living, located in the Manchester industrial area, with 800 native trees, shrubs, and forbs.
