We are counting down the days until this year’s Walk With Excellecne - Ottawa, a community celebration of Black HS graduates in the Class of 2026. On June 12 you are invited to join the “walk” to celebrate the brillance and resilience of Black youth of the Ottawa-Gatineau region. Whether you are walking for, walking with, walking in honour of, we walk this last kilometre with them because we understand the importance of this milestone and all it takes to make it to this day. We are the in person demonstration of love, nurturing and networking they will continue to need for their future.
Because we are also celebrating a milestone, we launched the “Excellence Trek, 26 km in 26 days for the Class of 2026”. I added to that by doing 26km in a day on May 26 in honour of Black students and their Black educators. Trekkers have a few more days to complete their 26km trek if you’d like to donate or sponsor. ❤️🔥❤️🔥 In addition, as part of our commitment to buidling an ecosystem of opportunities for Black youth learning and leadership, we want University Square, the end of the walk, to also be a celebration of all of the ways our communities continue to create amazing things for engaging Black youth and Black communities. You are invited to set up and share at University Square. Let me know if you’d like to take advantage.
