It’s cold and flu season, and while there’s no quick cure, there are things you can do to support your recovery. A hot ginger bath can help stimulate circulation, which in turn encourages sweating and supports the body’s natural detox processes. It can even create a mild fever-like warmth. Although many people think fever is harmful, a slight rise in temperature can actually be beneficial, as it supports the activity of your body's macrophages—they patrol your body and swallow up bacteria, viruses, and dead cells.
If you want to take a ginger bath, here are a few things to know:
Fill your tub with very warm water.
Add 2–4 tablespoons of ginger powder to the full tub.
Before getting in, drink two cups of hot peppermint or ginger tea.
Keep a cup of cold water nearby in case you feel overheated or light-headed. If that happens, sip the cold water and place a cold, wet washcloth on your forehead or the back of your neck.
Soak in the bath for at least 10–20 minutes. When your heart starts to race or you feel flushed, get out, dry off, and climb into a warm bed right away. Drink another cup of hot tea, relax, sweat it out, and go to sleep. When you wake up, you should feel much better.
Caution - If you have heart disease or high blood pressure it is not wise to do this.
Relax, sweat a little, sip some tea… repeat 🛁☕
Not medical advice—just a way to help you feel a bit better while you recover.😊
