Pilates vs. Sculpt
what’s the difference? 👀

Both build strength, but they challenge your body in different ways.

Pilates focuses on controlled, precise movement, core strength, stability, alignment and muscular endurance. It’s amazing for building body awareness and learning to move with intention.

My Sculpt classes bring in weights, functional movement, a touch of yoga + heat. You’ll work your muscles, elevate your heart rate and challenge your strength and endurance in a different way. 🔥

Pilates helps you build control. Sculpt asks you to put that strength to work!!

I’m sharing this from my own experience, not because I have all the answers, but because I wish I had been asked more questions.

Postpartum is so much more than checking a box for depression or anxiety. The physical, hormonal, emotional and neurological changes can be complex, and sometimes we don’t even know what we’re experiencing until we’re already deep in it.

I’m 21 months postpartum and still learning how to understand my body and support myself better.

Maybe we need to expand the way we care for mothers, too.

Things you should consider green flags in my treatment space 👀🌿

1. You’re allowed to talk.
Or not. 😂
Whatever makes you comfortable. I will always follow your lead.

2. I ask about your body, not just where it hurts.
I want the context, not just the symptom.

3. You can ask me to change something at ANY time.
Pressure, position, temperature, whatever you need.

4. I don’t believe more pressure = better treatment.
Your body doesn’t need to be bullied into relaxing. But also, my pointy elbows work perfectly for tricky knots.

5. I don’t expect you to “push through.”
Your body gets a say in what happens on my table.

6. I explain before I do.
If something might be unfamiliar, I’ll explain it first so you know what to expect.

7. I treat the whole body, not just the problem area.
Your body is connected. Sometimes the place that needs attention isn’t the place that hurts.

8. You don’t have to perform wellness.
Come tired, stressed, emotional, chatty, quiet, messy… all of you is welcome.

9. I leave space for your nervous system to settle.
You don’t have to jump off the table and immediately rush back into life.

10. Your boundaries are respected. Always.
You are allowed to change your mind, ask questions, pause or say no.

11. You don’t need to have a “reason” to book.
You don’t have to be injured or falling apart to deserve an hour of care.

I know, I know…
I’ve become the teacher I used to side-eye. 😂
Full circle.

I have a knack for finding the tension you’ve been carrying. 😂

Your body is constantly communicating with you, sometimes we just need to slow down enough to listen.

I work with the whole body, using intentional pressure, movement and energetic principles to support relaxation, awareness and balance.

And yes… I’ll probably find that spot and maybe a few others that have been holding to support you.

Sometimes I move to strengthen my body.
Sometimes I move to quiet my mind.
Either way, I come back to myself.
A little more grounded.
A little more present.
A little more connected to the body I get to live this life in 🤍.
