This is outside my usual posts, but I need to show you all this hand-drawn animation my daughter made for my business! Isn't it the coolest!

Date night walk last night led to this surprise find! The first Chicken-of-the-Woods that I've found this year. I took a little flush home with me (after celebrating, of course), and today it became the most delicious lunch ❤️

An unplanned little reel of some quick herbal first aid — featuring a fresh bee sting and the plantain growing nearby.

Plantain is everywhere here in southern Manitoba, and I’d love for more people to recognize it, even just for this simple gift it offers. Especially if you’re out with children, having this plant knowledge in your back pocket can be so helpful — a quick, accessible way to tend to a sting right when it happens!

*I should note that in a few hours when I go inside, I'll clean up the wound and keep some Nature's First Aid salve on it until it's totally healed up.

This blend is mostly made on vibes and with the abundance of freshly dried herbs in my kitchen apothecary! It's sweet and floral and oh so good over ice on hot summer days!

And while we'll all be drinking it for the love of iced tea, these are plants that have been used in herbal traditions to support stress, digestion, and overall balance (including things like blood sugar and blood pressure) - what a gift!

I had so many people ask at the market yesterday what I was growing in my garden, so I figured I'd do a garden tour today. And what I thought would be 3-4 minutes turned out to be a wee bit longer. So, for the handful of you who would enjoy a 12 minute tour of my garden, here you are! In all it's abundant and chaotic glory. Maybe next will have to be all the wild and cultivated medicinal plants all over my yard?

I’m taking a bit of a slower summer with markets this year, so this will be my only one in July — and it feels just right!

It also happens to be at one of my favourite market locations: the Lilystone Vintage & Handmade Night Market. It’s a mix of indoor and outdoor vendors, with such a good mix of vintage finds and local makers. I’ll be there with a full table of teas, tinctures, salves, and syrups, and I’d love to see you there!

Summer is fully here, and I’m harvesting and drying herbs almost every day. It really is the best season!

I took a walk around the yard yesterday to snap photos of the medicinal plants growing here, and before long I had counted over 30 herbs — and that didn’t even include the shrubs and trees.

In honour of this abundance (and because I’m already looking forward to working with all the fresh plants coming in), I’m offering a summer sale!

10% off Tinctures
15% off First Aid, Soothe, and Deep Breath Salves
20% off Herbal Teas

I don’t often offer discounts like this — this is the biggest one I’ll run all year! No discount code necessary - discount will automatically apply on your order online. Local pickup and shipping is available.

And for those wondering what medicines are growing here right now — this is the current list from my yard:

Rose, chamomile, elecampane, comfrey, calendula, holy basil, peppermint, lemon balm, echinacea, yarrow, ashwagandha, motherwort, Solomon’s seal, spearmint, plantain, thyme, goldenrod, St. John’s wort, yellow dock, dandelion, nettle, crampbark, marshmallow, elderberry, bee balm, horseradish, skullcap, anise hyssop, raspberry leaf, wormwood, red clover.

Gift cards are now available for Taiga!

I’ve had a few people ask about this over time, so I’ve put something together and just take a look at how pretty it is, resting on a plant in my yard that I absolutely love - comfrey! Comfrey is such a heavy worker in my yard:

-It's substantial and beautiful with a dense root (I'm testing it out as edging to keep the grass out of the one side of my garden).

-In a few weeks it will have the most delicate blooms that are pollinator magnets!

-Comfrey leaf is one of the main herbs in both my Soothe and First Aid salves and is a powerful wound healer!

-Comfrey is also an amazing mulch in the garden around my plants. I just "chop and drop" and it helps suppress weeds and provide nutrients to the soil and my plants! I am also experimenting this year making a "comfrey tea" as a natural fertilizer for my herbs and vegetables.

Now back to the gift cards - I’m offering both physical and digital options. If you’d like a gift card, just send me a message and I can set you up!
