I'm looking forward to joining together next week in brotherhood for the I AM MAN - Men’s Retreat.

This weekend will share the voices of elders, Aikido, not just as a means to redirect energies in martial art but as a path to personal empowerment, and a series of shadow processes and group activities – all designed with one goal in mind – to help every man metabolize anything that’s happening in their life and step into his own unique sense of himself.

You get really tired of replaying the disappointments of your life. You think you have to time travel to the past to undo the hurt but where did that get you?

Understanding?
An apology from a parent?
A more crystallized version of the hurt?

It’s helpful to know where you came from but don’t let it be the defining narrative for how you are, for who you are.

It’s binding - tethered, scarred into the flesh but it does not define you.

No…no no no. Only you can do that. Right here. Right now. You define how you will live your life and not how it will be lived for you.

An old blueprint is like autopilot…it’s too comfortable to hold onto. For if you are not this than who are you? Embrace by that uncertainty is far more discomforting than we let on. To rewrite our roles. To add new chapter to our identity.

Any self unraveling I’ve embarked on bestowed answers to my questions but it never made it any easier to make the change and live with a new directive.

Look to your future.
It is here. Right Fu*king now.
Give power to your new reckoning.

Passion…give the lifeblood.
Nurture what you will manifest
