This happened over a month ago, and I meant to post it earlier….😊.
I did a cooking class with my amazing cycling team (Element Race Team) to complete the Culinary Nutrition Program (through Academy of Culinary Nutrition).
I did a demo on making almond milk, and then put the team to work on making 3 different recipes; chocolate chia pudding, chocolate protein balls, and the main course that I created, sweet potato, lentil, kale bowl with avocado sauce.
I loved how everyone got to work and created some amazing food!
I’m am so grateful that it was these ladies that got to experience my first cooking class!
I learned so much and noticed that my confidence in cooking and creating recipes has definitely improved!
The theme/condition that this cooking class was structured around was Perimenopause. Many don’t know what that is, but ask any women that has gone through it and they’ll give you a list of a multitude of symptoms that they’ve dealt with for years and maybe you’ll get a sense of what it entails. When I was going through perimenopause in my late 40’s, I hadn’t even heard of the term, but man, I had some crazy symptoms! I love that it’s not such a taboo subject anymore and now I talk about being post-menopausal more and more each day. (Sometimes even with strangers! Haha!). It’s a natural process women go through and there are so many more ways to find support these days.
The foods we made in the class are very supportive for minimizing Perimenopause (and menopause) symptoms.
Meghan Telpner’s Academy of Culinary Nutrition Course was unbelievable! It was a whirlwind of 4 months of making/cooking recipes every week, along with a written assignment each week, too.
So glad I took this course. Next steps is to add cooking classes, videos, etc, into my nutrition consulting, and the idea is to do some local cooking classes with others.
Oh and I have some breaking news! I am officially a Culinary Nutrition Expert from ACN (Academy of Culinary Nutrition). I can’t believe I graduated with honors! (94%!). Look at me go!!
I’m so grateful and thankful for all of my teammates that came out to support me and make some yummy food (and eat it, too!)… appreciate you all so much!! 💕💕💕
Looking forward to a delicious and healthy future! 💕💕💕🚴♀️🚴♀️🚴♀️🍾🍾🍾
