You feel like s**t because:

The food is fake

The water is toxic.

The prescriptions
aren't working.

The sleep is poor.

The liver is angry.

The sun is blocked.

The exercise is ignored.

The parasites are active.

The emotions are unaddressed.

The energy is stagnant.

The news is on.

Pineapple W**d: The Wild Plant That Smells Like Summer πŸβ˜€οΈ

You don't have to grow chamomile to enjoy a tea-like wild herb. Pineapple w**d (Matricaria discoidea) pops up in driveways, sidewalks, gravel paths, and disturbed soil across much of North America. Crush the flower heads between your fingers, and you'll understand how it got its name. They release a sweet, fruity scent that reminds many people of fresh pineapple.

Despite its humble appearance, pineapple w**d has been used for generations as a gentle herbal tea. The flower heads have a mild, fruity flavor and are also used in infused honey, vinegars, syrups, desserts, and salads.

Traditionally, pineapple w**d has been used to:

- Support healthy digestion and help settle an upset stomach.
- Encourage relaxation and promote restful sleep.
- Provide antioxidant compounds that help protect cells from everyday stress.
- Offer mild anti-inflammatory properties that may help soothe minor irritation.
- Add a naturally sweet, fruity flavor to teas and other homemade herbal creations.

Before harvesting, make sure you've correctly identified the plant and only gather it from areas that haven't been treated with pesticides, herbicides, or other chemicals. If you're allergic to ragw**d, chamomile, daisies, or other plants in the Asteraceae family, use caution, as pineapple w**d may cause a similar reaction.

Sometimes the most useful plants are the ones growing right beneath our feet.

Everyone is carrying something unseen. Whether it is joyous or heavy, or a little bit of both, it’s important that you treat people with kindness.

For many people, the death of an animal companion is so profound 🌈. It can be one of the hardest losses you'll ever go through in your lifetime and leave you feeling totally bereft.

They knew your routines, your moods and your quiet moments. They were there through ordinary days and life's biggest chapters. They offered comfort without needing an explanation.

That relationship, your relationship deserves to be fully recognised for the significance it holds, not judged against someone else's idea of what your grief should look like.

I often wonder how different the experience of pet loss grief would be for people who don't feel safe to talk about it openly and if they didn't worry about being dismissed, rushed or made to feel like they were grieving "too much."

Compassion has never been something that should need to be earned. It should be freely given wherever love exists. 🀍

If this post made you feel seen, I hope it also reminds you of something important. Your relationship matters! Your pet grief matters and your animal companion's life matters too!

πŸ“ŒSave this for the days when you need a reminder that you have all the permission in the world to grieve your way.
