Happy Solstice my loves 💫

This afternoon I had an amazing experience of breathwork and spinal energetics capped off with a sauna at the with and for my Solstice reflections.

In this experience we were given cards from a tarot deck to either flip over if we were open to touch from the practitioners, or leave them face down if we wanted no contact. I flipped mine over (cuz hands are healing and these two women have amazing energy to share) and saw that spirit had gifted me with the Death card.

Now there are some people who would think that the Death card in a deck means gloom and doom, but I see it for the gift that it is.

A calling for transformation, stillness, rebirth, and release of things that no longer bring me life. And on the longest & darkest night of the year, this card couldn’t be more fitting!

In my world, the winter solstice is a powerful reminder of the balance between the light and the dark, it calls me in to appreciate stillness and the invitation to rest & reflect. It also guides me to intentionally plant creative seeds that I would like to gestate over the next year with the coming of new light.

And oh the things I want to bring to life!! The first one being a Date Night experience for couples to explore their Bedroom Love Languages in a fun, educational, and intentional way.

You can catch this experience starting Tuesday January 6th at 8pm, and runs every Tuesday till January 27th at For Lovers Only (Idylwyld location). I love messages from Spirit!

One of my favourite songs to sing is “I am my Mothers Savage daughter” a diddy that dives into themes of female empowerment, rejection of societal norms, and embracing one’s individuality.

A portion of the lyrics goes:
“ My mother’s child is a savage
She looks for her omens in the colors of stones
In the faces of cats, in the fall of feathers
In the dancing of fire
In the curve of old bones “

This literally describes they ways in which I commune and connect to Spirit and look for signs, and today I received such a message finding this feather.

I have been preparing to go speak to a group of women about the Power of Pleasure, and have been diving back into books such as ‘Wild Feminine’ by Tami Lynn Kent and ‘Vagina’ by Naomi Wolf. While listening to these books and going over the flow of my presentation, I came across this feather.

A nudge, a whisper, a sign from my guides that the joy I am feeling, the excitement that is building, and the power I feel surging means I am on the right path. The sharing of this information, the transmission of this wisdom is an answer to my souls calling. And f**k does it feel good.

There is nothing like the feeling of listening to your souls callings.

I first felt the call to back in 2007 when I first learned about it when it was listed as one of the . This place and the pyramids of Egypt were the only 2 that stood out to me, and I declared back then I wanted to go.

Fast forward to 2016 I devoured the book 'The Celestine Prophecy' by James Redfield (great book, check it out) set in the Peruvian mountains with a climactic scene happening at MP. This was right before starting my SLRC certification (training steeped in Ta***ic traditions) which I believe ignited my desire to see, feel, and work with energy and understand the deeper mysteries of the world. I once again declared I wanted to visit this place.

Zip ahead to April 2024, when Sheldon and I spent a week in Lima Peru, sooo close the enfamed historic mountains, and I felt the tug again. A whisper from the earth, a song in the air, a fire in my belly, and a gush of excitement. The elements were calling and had learned to listen. I decided that week, next year I would be walking the and started planning.

I was in need of the medicine this hike would offer. I had injured my tailbone, pinched a nerve in my back, and my trust in my body had declined. The mountain was calling me to remember, to break through the limitations and barriers I had erected around what my animal body knew it could do. So, I started training, pushing & striving to conquer this literal & figurative mountain.

And on this hike, in the moments I was gasping for air, thinking I wouldn't be able to do it - the stories & energy of the people long since past & who had created and used this trail - whispered to me that I could. It showed me the power of putting your mind to something, the manifestation of creativity, and the human birthright to reinvent yourself. So I kept putting one foot in front of the other, climbed that sacred path, and remembered my body is powerful, capable, and to something be trusted.

I believe this journey was laid out for me years ago to help me overcome the coming struggles, and to come back home to pray in the temple of my body.

I talk a lot about sisterhood + feminine empowerment - but I also LOVE brotherhood + masculine power.

Especially because I am so blessed to be on the receiving end of it with some amazing men in my life.

Men who are balanced in their masculine and feminine energies. Men that inspire me to strive and achieve my goals, but also nurture + take care of me.

Perfect example, in this photo I am out hiking in day 2 of my bleed - and we did a pretty intense 20km hike. They made sure to carry the backpacks, let me set my own pace, and even have those amazing patches of comfortable silence, just meditating as we walked the Earth together.

And we hiked one of the most breathtaking trails that will be stored in my memory forever.
- Hikers high is a real thing y’all - And it’s something I might not have thought to attempt on day 2, but with the support + presence of these men, I crushed it.
💪🏽
That’s what having a brotherhood is to me. Men that challenge, inspire and reflect back to me my greatness. It’s a space to be playful, silly and wild. Masculine energy oozes “the world is your oyster and you can do anything you set your mind to”.

Synchronicities are a sign from the Divine.

The photo above is from a few days ago when our truck got a flat tire, and is putting on the spare, while I watch and cheer him on and celebrate his masculine prowess.
💪🏽
The synchronicity is that our wedding song is ‘Cheerleader’ by Omi, and it dawns on me that this is one of the many times I’ve sat on the sidelines and cheered my man on while he has handled a situation that would have me in frustrated tears.
😭
And as I look back at other memories, I “cheerlead” him hardest when he is stepping into his divine masculine which allows me to surrender, sink and release into my divine feminine.

For a man to embody his divine masculine, it means embracing qualities such as strength, assertiveness, courage, and a sense of purpose. It involves being confident, protective, and taking responsibility for oneself and others. It also includes being in touch with one’s emotions and expressing them in healthy ways, as emotional intelligence is an important aspect of the divine masculine.

Similarly, for a woman to embody her divine feminine, it means embracing qualities such as nurturing, compassion, intuition, and creativity. It involves being in tune with one’s emotions and embracing vulnerability. The divine feminine also emphasizes collaboration, connection, and the ability to create and manifest ideas and desires.

Grateful for this moment that helped me feel closer to divinity, and for this guy who I couldn’t imagine doing life without. The Yang to my Yin.

Finally back to workouts and movement that leave me sweaty and feeling that sweet sweet burn. It’s been a process, and one I’ve wanted to hurry, but ultimately getting back into functional movement that builds up my strength and mobility is my goal… and I have a lifetime to cultivate it.

Having a pinched nerve + severe back pain has been an eye opening experience these last couple days..
I’ve always been a fighter, an adventurer & independent (sometimes to a fault). At one point, I was trying to stand + make my way to the bathroom, sobbing inconsolably in pain, sure I was going to p**s myself for the need to p*e + unable to move, while my hubs helplessly watched..
It is one thing to face adversity + be able to take action, rally, fight back. It helps to counter the fear of what you are facing. This has been a completely shocking experience for me to be so helpless + feel as if I can do nothing to change that..
This has taken me on a journey of asking for help, which I have been so grateful to receive from many of you, from different stretches, exercises & professionals to reach out to - I can’t thank you all enough. But it is the needing to ask for help from my husband that has been the truest lesson in this for me..
Help to get in and out of bed, to get dressed, to get water and food, help to feel loveable when I feel like I have nothing to offer, help to make sense of why this is happening..
And trust me, I am well aware that this isn’t JUST a physical issue. Yes all the driving + the hard workout I did the day before definitely contributed, but I also know it’s a manifestation of feeling ungrounded + unsteady in this new life we are living..
Yes it’s been fun & a dream come true, but it’s also be hard in that we are trying to find a new rhythm, we were having equal stressful days to good ones. Little nit-picky fights, butting of heads, and not feeling like we were on the same team..
The belief of “I am not supported” was trying to get a foothold, and I think this has ultimately been a little lesson to show me that we ARE on the same team, we do have each other’s backs, and there is deep unconditional love + support.
I am not alone. I am supported. I am loved.
…
And yes, even after 13 years of being together sometimes these lessons need to come through. So thank you Universe for the lesson, I’ve received it loud & clear, can you please take away my back pain now?
