Back in 2025 we conducted the Coastal Voices Survey, visiting Sunshine Coast schools to hear what youth wanted from the future Foundry Sunshine Coast centre. We wanted to know what would make our centre useful, more accessible, and youth friendly...

The results saw 850 youth and caregivers share their thoughts!

We want to say a huge THANK YOU to Sunshine Coast Financial!

Last month, Jodi came by the future site of Foundry Sunshine Coast to present a cheque for $50,000 to support Foundry programming on the Coast.

The donation was made possible through strong member participation in a limited-time Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) offer featuring a competitive rate and a $100 donation to Foundry for every GIC account opened. The offer, created to thank members of Sunshine Coast Financial, Coast Capital and Prospera for their support during the recent merger and their continued trust, generated $150,000 for Foundry's Work & Education Program, including $50,000 dedicated to Foundry Sunshine Coast. The contribution marks the credit union's first major community investment since the merger in May 2026.

"Our roots run deep on the Sunshine Coast," said Jodi Fichtner of Sunshine Coast Financial. "This investment is a powerful example of how our collective strength as Canada's largest national purpose-driven credit union translates into meaningful local impact."

SCCSS is the lead agency for Foundry SC, bringing together community partners to establish an integrated youth service centre for young people ages 12 to 24.

"This collaboration of partners reflects a shared commitment to the well-being and future success of young people on the Sunshine Coast," said Catherine Leach, executive director of Sunshine Coast Community Services Society. "Foundry Sunshine Coast will be a transformative addition to our community, creating a lasting resource where youth and young adults can access the health and wellness services they need to thrive."

Foundry offers free and confidential support for mental health, substance use health, physical and sexual healthcare, youth and family peer support and work & education support for BC youth aged 12-24 and their families/caregivers – no referrals or assessments required – both in-person at a local centre or virtually anywhere in BC.

Today we are feeling huge gratitude for our summer student Willow 💖🙏🏼 🎬 Willow joined the Foundry Sunshine Coast team as our Youth Digital Media Creator. She has been working closely with our youth advisory and creating short films to share with our community.

🎉What a fantastic pop-up by SCCSS Youth Outreach!☀️

The SCCSS Youth Outreach Program has had an amazing summer of youth camps and pop-ups and much more, and it’s been great to see this awesome crew giving out hotdogs, swag and smiles out in the community 🌭😊❤️

This week’s pop-up took place out front of the future location of Foundry Sunshine Coast (Foundry Sunshine Coast), and some youth and staff from Foundry SC joined in on the fun as well...
