πŸ“– New blog post is up β€” I've been diving deep into why the biomedical model alone isn't enough once pain goes chronic, and what that means for how we treat. Link in bio.

🧠 5 spots away from confirming my Neuroscience of Massage course β€” May 16 & 17 in Clearwater, FL with the Center for Neurosomatic Studies.
Two days. 10 hours of labs. Pain science, fascia, neuroplasticity, palpation, ASMR, biotensegrity and more β€” all in one course.

Price = $450

I’m excited to be bringing this class to CNS on May 16-17
I hope you can join me!

The human body speaks a language the nervous system understands long before the mind does. Neuroscience of Massage Therapy is a 16-hour continuing education course that equips massage therapists with a clinically grounded, research-informed framework for understanding why and how manual therapy works β€” at the level of neurons, fascia, pain science, and the whole person in front of you.
This course moves well beyond technique. It examines the neuroscience underlying touch, sensation, tissue behavior, and the brain’s role in generating and sustaining pain. Therapists leave with a deeper clinical vocabulary, a sharper understanding of the mechanisms behind their work, and practical hands-on skills calibrated to the current evidence β€” including a critical eye toward common myths and outdated models still circulating in the profession.
Grounded in peer-reviewed research and delivered through experiential labs, case-based learning, and evidence-based discussion, this course is designed for therapists who are ready to think differently about what their hands are actually doing.

New podcast episode β€” and this one has been a long time coming.

My guest is Paul Ingraham of PainScience.com. Back in 2012, his writing sent me into what I call my "crisis of faith" β€” the moment I started asking harder questions about what we were actually doing and why. It's a big part of why the Sensory Approach to Manual Therapy exists.

We talked about why massage still matters even when the mechanical explanations don't hold up, the one benefit the evidence actually supports with confidence, the ethics of therapy theater, and the difference between patient satisfaction and real clinical outcomes.

Paul's advice to new graduates: stop pathologizing posture and movement patterns. And make the sensory experience the foundation of everything you do. If nothing else, give people something genuinely pleasant. That's where any real therapeutic potential lives.

⏰ 8 days left β€” and only 9 spots remaining!

If you've been thinking about joining me in Dickinson, ND for Neuroscience of Massage Therapy, this is your sign to register.

April 11–12, 2026 | Roosevelt Grand Dakota Hotel, Dickinson, ND

This 2-day course covers the latest research in pain science, touch neurology, biotensegrity, myofascial release, ASMR, synaptic plasticity, and more β€” including 10 hours of hands-on lab time. Your existing skills are the foundation. This course sharpens them with the science.

πŸ”— Register before spots are gone:

This course is designed to gain a greater understanding into the influence the sensory system has on our clients. Pain, pleasure & touch are subservient to the information the sensory system inputs to the brain. New research in neuro-science means we are understanding the sensory system and how

Pain! The Other 4-Letter Word is now LIVE on Amazon β€” open to all.

For those of you who received early access through my newsletter, thank you. Your support in these first days has meant everything.

For everyone else β€” the wait is over. πŸ™Œ

This book is everything I've learned and lived in the clinic over the years β€” the neuroscience of chronic pain, why it persists, how your nervous system learns it, and what you can actually do to change it. Written for anyone who has ever wondered why their pain won't go away β€” and for the people who love them.

I genuinely look forward to hearing your thoughts. If it resonates, sharing it with someone who needs it is the greatest gift you could give this book. πŸ™

It is not about positive thinking, willpower, or convincing yourself you're fine. It is about understanding the biology of what is actually happening in your nervous system β€” and using that understanding to create real, lasting change. Whether you've had pain for three months or thirty years,...
