💗 MAIN CHARACTER — Girls Leadership Retreat 💗

Four weeks until we pack our bags, head to Bowen Island and give an incredible group of girls a weekend devoted entirely to reminding them just how capable, worthy, brave and powerful they are.

Because growing up as a girl right now is complicated.

There is SO much noise telling girls how they should look, who they should be, what they should like, how they should act and whether they’re doing any of it right.

For one weekend, we want to turn that noise OFF.
No filters.
No likes.
No comparison.
Just real girls. Real friendships. Real adventure. Real confidence. 💗

✨ Our theme this Fall ‘MAIN CHARACTER’: is about teaching girls that being the main character of your life doesn’t mean believing the world revolves around you.
It means knowing that your story matters.
It means finding your voice.
Knowing your worth.
Being brave enough to be yourself.
Learning how to handle the unexpected PLOT TWISTS. ⚡
Standing up for what matters.
Taking chances.
Getting back up.
Cheering loudly for other girls.
And discovering the kind of leader YOU want to become.
And we’re going to do it the best way we know how...
AT CAMP. 🏕️💗

🥂LADIES CRAFT & CONNECT💞
There’s something just so extra special about the moments shared by women in spaces that feel like home! The Den is exactly that! A place where we can come together, surrounded by so many opportunities for creative expression, yummy snacks, bevies & the most wonderful company! It’s become our absolute fav. way to spend a Friday night!!!

Who/what does the ‘inspirer’ turn to when they need some inspiration??

When you are the leader, often guiding the way, what happens when you are the one wanting/needing the guidance?

Grateful for the magical moments like today where I get to sit at a table of powerhouse female entrepreneurs who are not only paving their own way but lighting the way for the sisterhood around them!
🐝
Workshops with are a huge go to when I’m craving that human connection and the space for those beautifully unexpected magical moments!! To think that I now get to go into my evening crafting my heart out at our ladies Craft and Connect event has me wanting to live days like today every day!

🐝INTRODUCING (and re-introducing) a true Healthy Hearts OG… ARISSA!🐝

Some staff intros are exciting… and some feel like *fate.* This one is the second kind.

Arissa and I have shared a camp love for what feels like a lifetime. I’ve had the absolute privilege of knowing her since she was in her early teens — and then I became her Leadership Director when she stepped into those big LIT / young leader years (16/17-ish). I watched her grow into the kind of human you *want* your kids to learn from: capable, kind, grounded, fun, and full of heart.
💜
Then life did what life does… I had my own kiddos, took a short break, and came back stronger than ever — by launching Healthy Hearts, Healthy Minds when my kids were just 2 years old. And want to know who my first staffing call was?
Yep. Arissa!!

After a few incredible years with us, Arissa stepped into the professional world of insurance, met the love of her life, got married — and through it all, we stayed connected. She continued showing up as alumni staff, volunteering at events and retreats, and staying woven into our community.
🌈
And then… 8 years later… she said what we both already knew: something was missing.
That void? CAMP.

The stars aligned, the timing was perfect, and in a conversation that felt like a full-body YES… we knew camp is exactly where she needs to be — and exactly who camp needs on our Senior Staff Team.

As of the beginning of May, we are over-the-moon excited to welcome Arissa back… not just for summer… but as a FULL TIME staff member! Arissa will be joining us as the LIT Director and Assistant to the Director for our Summer months and the Lead of our afterschool
programs beginning in the fall!!
🥳
If you already know and love her, get ready for so much more quality time together. And if you haven’t met her yet… buckle up. Your Healthy Hearts experience is about to get that much more joy-explosive.

🥹Welcoming back our sweet Ellie, who’s been part of Healthy Hearts for 6 years - with 3 of those years on our staff team!

Ellie is the ultimate child magnet around here. There’s truly not a moment in the day when she doesn’t have 2–3 kids hanging off her, hugging her, and soaking up every second they can get with her.

Her calm, steady energy paired with her hilarious sense of humour makes her such a gift to our campers and our team. We’re beyond excited to welcome Ellie back for her fourth summer on staff, and we already know she’s going to help create so many unforgettable moments this season.

“Hi camper families! My name is Ellie and I’m so excited to be heading into my fourth year on staff! I’m currently finishing up my Grade 12 year, which has been full of swimming and volunteering in my community.
