When Burnout Makes It Hard to Begin Again
After prolonged stress, you may find yourself in a state of freeze or shutdown. You might:
Lose interest in things.
Stop keeping up with your home.
Feel disconnected.
One day, you might find a tiny bit of energy or courage after rest -
You put away a few things.
You bring something beautiful into the room.
You rearrange a space.
You begin decorating again.
You may be beginning to reconnect with your environment and the part of you that still wants to create a life that feels good.
Creating a comfortable space can provide small experiences of choice, accomplishment, and safety—things that can feel lost you were depleted.
Start incredibly small.
One surface.
One drawer.
One thing that feels like you.
And if all you can do is open the curtains and let a little light in, that's okay too. 🌿
You are allowed to slowly make your space—and your life—feel like yours again.
