I have been away from my desk.

We have had a death in the family and I have been a little absent. I believe I have now caught up on emails and missed calls, and rescheduled appointments I had to move, but please reach out again if you have not heard back from me! I will be on vacation this weekend beginning tomorrow morning and will be unable to take appointments. I will be back on the road on Monday and will able to start take more appointments starting then.

As always, please reach out via text/email/or phone, and please leave a message with your name and phone number if I am in an appointment and unable to take your call!

For those of you on rout to Grand Narrows I am extending services that way! I would love to pick up a few more clients in that area to help decrease travel time and make appointments more affordable for all! Please reach out if you are in that area and looking for foot care

Have a great weekend.

Cracks... no, not the ones on your butt. We are talking about the ones often found on the soles of your feet! I most often see these in the heels and the inside edge of the ball of your feet. These not only form because of dry skin, but also due to extremely thick calluses.
What can you do at home to treat these? Firstly, if you have any issues with sensation or blood flow to your feet (diabetes, nerve damage, old age, etc) you need to keep a close eye on them and make sure they are not becoming infected. Many cracks are surface level deep, but they can become deep enough to cause wounds. The next step is to use a nice thick cream at least once a day to help keep the skin nice and soft. The third step is to get someone to help you thin that thick stubborn skin and get to the bottom of that crack!
Below is a before and after of a treatment I did recently. These are often caused by friction, dryness, and general dehydration. This means that they will return unless the underlying issue is addressed. They cannot always be completely erased in one treatment, and they have a likelihood of returning. I have been treating these heels for a few months, and the first time I saw this client that crack had actually been bleeding on and off. The client and I left too much time between treatments leading to a return of the crack, but how much better do we think that feels?

What is the difference between nursing foot care and a pedicure at a salon? I am not here to say that my services are better than an Esthetician's. They are very different services. You give me a bottle of nail polish and a picture of beautiful nail art, and you will not get what you hope for. However, you show me your painful toes, extremely long/thickened nails, corns, calluses or foot wounds and I can help you! I am trained to assess your feet for issues, identify injury or areas of concern, treat your feet using evidence based practices, prevent further injury where I can, provide teaching about how to properly care for your feet, and will send you to a physician or other healthcare provider when I feel your needs exceed my scope of practice. Neither is better than the other, they serve different purposes. Regardless of your age, gender, ability/disability, ethnicity, or condition you deserve to be treated according to your needs.
As always, call, text, or email to book an appointment!
