Thereβs a lot of noise around coffee.
Some call it a health drink.
Others warn against it entirely.
When you look at the research across cancer, brain health, and cardiovascular outcomes, the answer is more nuanced:
Coffee is not considered a carcinogen, and some studies suggest lower risk of certain cancers, though more research is still needed.
A recent large study found that about 2β3 cups per day was associated with the lowest risk of dementia.
And more broadly, moderate intake has been linked with better heart health and overall longevity.
But more is not always better.
Coffee can disrupt sleep, increase anxiety, trigger palpitations, and worsen reflux.
For most adults, 2β3 cups per day appears to be the range where benefits are greatest.
But the right amount is still individual.
The healthiest dose is the one that supports your body β
not the one that overrides it.
