2013 was not the best year, to say the least, and I had made the boldest decision for myself, that I had ever made for myself, at the end of 2013.
Then as the Universe usually does, it throws in Balance and 2014 was an incredible year for me. As I healed piece by piece, I believe I felt just about every emotion/feeling possible that year. I worked through sadness, disappointment, guilt, embarrassment, love, appreciation, empowerment, confidence, and the list continues...
In March of 2014, my cousin and her now husband, had opened their door (hearts) to me and shared their home which allowed me to get back on my own two feet. I was alone in their house at the time, doing my laundry and I had been thinking about my youngest brother and his journey in this lifetime. He lived through a very dark time, for quite a long while, but in 2014, he was close to celebrating 2 years of a healthy lifestyle. I was (still am and will always be) so extremely proud of him. His will power, his strength, his courage, his resilience, his belief in 'this is my time to heal', and his determination to heal himself from the inside out, it all just made my heart so happy. So happy.
So as I was saying, I was gathering my laundry, tossing it all into the basket and I was just about done emptying the dryer, when I looked and saw this. (The picture that goes with this story.) Sitting in the dryer was a pair of my well used, favourite comfy socks with what looked like a crumpled up receipt, maybe?! I looked closer. It was something handwritten. Red pen was used. Ahhh… the red ink jogged my memory. I had found a note that my brother had written, in a book that I was reading. I actually don't remember exactly what the handwritten note said but I do remember it describing the happiness that my brother was manifesting at the time that he wrote the note. The note was now a clean ball of packed paper and the only word left that I could read was 'happy.'
When I first discovered the note in the book, I smiled as I read it, folded it up and put it in the pocket of my hoodie. I had planned on keeping it, but wouldn't you know, I didn't need to hang on to it. My brother had indeed manifested his own happiness, that same happiness that he had written about.
Each time I see this picture, I am flooded with all sorts of feelings, but the best one is happiness. 💕
