Raw and Ready:

Our only home on this planet is our body. We carry it everywhere we go. In order for it to thrive, move and carry us around it needs to be nourished and cared for. My mission is to empower you in the process of connecting to what your body needs. Nourishing it is not about eating plain, flavourless “boring” food. It is about enjoying every bite and knowing that your body is getting

everything it needs. It is about supporting it in your daily life, your movement practices, and especially supporting it during times of sickness. Raw and Ready is a state of mind. It is knowing the wisdom of our body and recognizing that we always expand, grow and revolutionize ourselves from within. That means getting down and dirty, putting in the work, but also lovin’ every moment of it. No BS, no rounding corners, while respecting and trusting the process. About Ma'ayan:

A gut-health, gut-brain, and sports clinical nutritionist specializing in digestive issues, stress-related symptoms, brain support, and performance. I combine clinical nutrition, functional lab testing, and mind–body modalities to uncover root causes and support long-term healing from indigestion, IBS, bloating, food sensitivities, concussions, and female hormonal imbalances. My approach is personalized, science-based, and guided by traditional wisdom.

There is a lot of nutrition and health information out there, but most of it might be irrelevant to you.

While many try to figure out why they hear contradictory information about health and wellness, I propose to focus on the most important thing: what’s worth YOUR action.

And to me, that’s always through individualized care. Because two people with the same illness are still different.

The body is dynamic.
Your needs, dreams and lifestyle evolve and change.

What doesn’t change are principles. Because principles are the building blocks- and understanding how to utilize nutrition building blocks to support the energy demands your body has is a game changer.

I’ve seen it on myself multiple times, and I’ve seen it on my clients.

Your gut health feels good (like, finally there is no discomfort or pain).
Your mind clears.
Anxiety lowers.
Your hormones balance. Heck, your libido shows up, and you feel so much more open to life.
Joy comes back.
It’s like being a different person.

If you want in, my program will give you results within 6 weeks, it’s specific, and you will come out with deep understanding and appreciation of your body and how to grow your capacity so that you can be fully present with your life.

I only have space for 3 people and it’s time limited so first come first served.

DM me to get the full details, no commitment needed.

I almost took medication for anxiety. The first time in my life that I considered it. With all my knowledge and experience, I felt like my anxiety reached a new high that I was worried it would create serious damage to my brain and general well-being long term.

It’s been a very rough year prior to that. My anxiety didn’t come from a vacuum. So I had a lot of compassion towards my self, and deeply just wanted to find my way back to life.

I’m not at my 100% yet, but let me tell you- this work, works.

I’ve healed so many things using food as medicine- and this time was no different. I took matters into my hands and said- let me try for a bit, if I’m not getting better within a month I’m going on meds.

And I did get better. Not all at once. But every week was a little better.

My gut improved. So did my sleep. The clouds started to lift

I was able to go to the gym more. I was able to do more when I trained. And now, after 3 months I got to observe my mind saying: “I don’t feel like doing 6 on my third set (the most I’ve ever done)- and my internal reply was: but I GET TO. Cause 3 months ago, I barely left my house, let alone trained 🥹.

It wasn’t all food though. It was a routine carefully curated- to send my body-mind all the signals that I am here, and that now is a new moment. A nourishing phase. No pressuring to be anything else, just loving myself into becoming.

This is what gentle but nuanced work does to us. Instead of pushing for results, they become revealed to us. With patience, with grace, and with care.

Our body-mind is so powerful, but we have free will to guide it, so guide yours well. And if you need support, I’m here for you 💜🫂.

Your gut has some symptoms, but your hormones do as well. So you stand in this intersection, unsure what you need to target.

Should I see a hormone specialist?

Should I take care of my gut?

So here’s the thing: hormones are way downstream.
To treat hormones is to treat gut, and to treat gut it to also go to your minerals.

Your minerals start the movement of everything in your body.

Without Iron you have no energy. And with no energy you have no movement, repair, and capacity.

Without sodium you have poor digestion, you have no stress capacity, and no proper blood flow.

Without zinc you aren’t healing properly, and without magnesium your hormones go array.

And! They all work hand in hand with each other. So, just focusing on one won’t get you to where you want to go. We need to balance all of them, so your system can revitalize.

It’s both complicated and simple, and I’m happy to offer a program that focuses just on that. If you want in book a connection call- there are currently 3 spots available.

Curious to know more? DM me a question and I’ll share more in detail.

The gut-brain axis informs the whole body. When we build the foundations properly, it’s easy get to the touch ups.

Like you wouldn’t build a house by putting the windows an and decorations first, you wouldn’t treat your chronic illness by dumping a bunch of supplements and call it a day.

If you aren’t getting your basic nutrients, your sleep, and proper microbiome fed- your body won’t have the building blocks to rebuild itself and do the repair it’s searching to do.

This is nervous system work.
This is cell to cell communication work.
This is microbiome work.
It’s gut repair work.

It’s deeply profound yet simple. Like all great things are.

Just keeping it real for you out here in the AI/social media jungle. Don’t be fooled by trends, use your energy wisely and see how you move from pain to truly feeling great in your body and mind by honing the foundational pieces.

Own of the biggest problems that I see in chronic illness is a mindset problem.

Diet culture has embedded an obsession towards looking a certain way, and one of its symptoms is people not eating enough to what their body needs.

The media throws “calories” around as if it’s the most important data point, when in reality it is the density in nutrients that we need to look at.

A healthy body has completely different nutrient needs than a body busy repairing something. And the longer the issue- the more in debt the body can be of resources.

Because chronic conditions are so noisy in the body, it takes longer to figure out how to untangle it.

But in my clinical experience it’s about creating all the right conditions, while embracing that every stage of healing will ask for something else.

At the base of it- you need to invest in nutrients. That’s the currency your body knows- and it absorbs it best from food. Whole Foods that come in a matrix of optimized proportions of so many minerals and vitamins all together are ideal.

The long way is usually the short way, so instead of searching for shortcuts, trust the process, feed yourself well, and see how your body starts repairing itself with ease.

And if you are completely lost, reach out.

My story isn’t rare. And it happened a few times in my life. It’s really what drove me to become a nutritionist.

Spending DECADES in chronic illness state, not understanding what’s happening, feeling dismissed, and receiving a simple label of “it’s mental”.

This isn’t to p**p on doctors- I’ve had some excellent ones!

But it is to say that our conventional medical system is incomplete (I’m sure we can all agree on that), and holistic care sometimes feels less accessible/ hard to sift through.

I hope this gives you some solace that if you are still searching for solutions and you feel dismissed, there are health care practitioners like me who are here for you.

If I knew then what I know now I could have saved myself decades of agony, and probably do more of the things I really love. And that’s what I really want to give you- access to a fuller life, faster.

So if you are in this position and seeking help, I’m currently working towards a new program. One with a goal of making great healthcare simple, complete and financially accessible.

If this sounds interesting to you, send me a DM. I have a few spots available.

The wellness industry will sell you supplements because they couldn’t find a better way to make money.

Yes- I said it.

For transparency- I currently take about 5 supplements.

Is this a contradiction? No.

Supplements is a useful development and it is aa ancient as humans realizing that plants can give them relief from pain, or heal wounds.

But what once was a resource to fill us up when we were injured or sick, has become a monster of profit, that many think they need to rely on.

What’s actually solving your problem is:
✅ honing your food- the actual currency of vitamins, minerals and macronutrient in your body- aka what makes your body (physically and literally)
✅ your lifestyle- that’s meant to support your ever evolving body-mind
✅tapping into biology- wake-sleep time, spending time in nature, less screen time, socialize, move your body.

I’ll always tell my clients that supplements are the final 10% on top of the amazing work they do- and that’s what’s really going to matter long term.

Stick around for more no BS wellness 😉.

There are big forest fires in Canada and the immediate reaction we have as humans is: this is wrong, someone did this on purpose, this is terrible.

And this is really how we treat ourselves in society when we are ill.

Nobody wants to be sick, like we don’t want the fire to destroy the lives of animals and people living in these areas. But could we pause and ask ourselves what could this be serving?

Could this be a natural process? And if so, what’s it for? How is it benefiting us and how can we work with it?

In every challenge there is an opportunity, and I believe that if we understood our body in this way, healing would be in a closer reach for many of us.

Instead of going against what’s happening, lean into it. And this doesn’t over ride the real destruction that is experienced, the loss, the pain. That is part of the work being asked of us through this process of leaning in.

Would love to hear how this lands for you.
