Leadership in nursing doesn’t begin with a title—it shows up every day in the way you communicate, advocate, problem solve, support each other, and respond to change.

This 8-week online course is designed to help nurses recognize and strengthen the leadership skills they already use in practice. Explore practical approaches to communication, problem-solving, influence, change management, and conflict resolution—skills that can help you navigate challenging situations with greater confidence and purpose.

With flexible, asynchronous learning, you can access weekly readings, activities, and assignments at times that work for your schedule.

Invest in the skills that shape stronger teams, better conversations, and more confident nursing practice.

From night school to a long career in nursing, Margarita’s journey is a testament to lifelong learning and the evolving role of RPNs.

Throughout her four-decade career, Margarita has supported nurses as a mentor, educator and advocate—encouraging RPNs to build their confidence, take ownership of their learning and recognize the tremendous value they bring to healthcare.

WeRPN joined Minister Natalia Kusendova-Bashta in Ottawa to welcome the Ontario government’s renewed investment into the BEGIN program, a transformative fund that provides tuition assistance and wraparound supports for PSWs and RPNs bridging to new nursing roles. Thank you Minister Kusendova-Bashta and the Ministry of Long-Term Care for your continued partnership and investment in Ontario’s nursing workforce.

Since the program began, over 1,500 participants have committed to working in long-term care, and this extension will help add nearly 900 more nurses to the sector. By empowering healthcare workers to advance their careers without financial hardship, we are building a resilient talent pipeline to ensure Ontarians receive the high-quality care they deserve.
