Ingredients
1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
¾ cup granulated sugar
¾ cup brown sugar (packed)
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Cream butter and sugars together in a large bowl until smooth and fluffy.
Add eggs and vanilla, mix until combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients.
Stir in chocolate chips.
Scoop tablespoon-sized balls onto a lined baking sheet (leave space between).
Bake 9–11 minutes, until edges are golden brown.
Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack.
Tips
For softer cookies: slightly underbake.
For crispier cookies: bake 1–2 minutes longer.
Chill dough 30 minutes for thicker cookies.
