Resting is productive.
You have probably heard it before, sleep when the baby sleeps. I agree with this, however, I would say, sleep when the baby sleeps IF you need to. This morning was when I needed to “sleep when the baby sleeps.” Thankfully I was able to as my 3 year old daughter was at preschool.
My baby boy has been typically waking once or twice at night and going to sleep after a feed, so in the morning I have been feeling rested. (Please do not compare your baby to mine, if yours wakes more or less, that’s fine, all babies are different. I also know that sleep is not linear, so he may wake more in the coming months, and I am ready for whatever happens). This morning was different, my body just needed a bit more rest, so I listened to it. I didn’t make myself feel guilty for not doing the MANY other things I COULD be doing. My sleep needs come before the household duties.
We had a nice contact nap this morning. I rested and he snuggled on top of me. I could feel his breath rise and lower as he could with mine. I’m soaking in all these moments. ♥️♥️♥️
