Canada’s oldest city has a river that flows backwards.
Saint John, 1785 — Canada’s first incorporated city. Twice a day the Bay of Fundy tide overpowers the river and reverses the rapids. It’s the only place in the country you can watch a river change direction.
The City Market is the oldest continuously running farmers market in Canada. The 1876 roof was built by shipbuilders — it’s shaped like an upside-down hull.

Nobody standing in this field knows it’s there.

Seven hundred thousand sunflowers in Caledon, and somewhere in the middle of them, a shape you can’t see from the ground. I’ve walked through here before. Walked right past it.

Took a drone going up 100 metres to find out what I’d been standing next to.

That’s most places, really. You need distance before you see the design.

700,000 sunflowers, all facing the same direction, in a field in Caledon. They track the sun through the day — so morning and evening look like two completely different places.

Sunflower season runs a few weeks and then it’s over for the year. That’s the whole window.
