UNEXPECTED TURNS & THE MIDDLE PATH🤍🤍🤍
When life takes unexpected turns, the only thing to do, at least on the outside, is to turn with it, while simultaneously on the inside… turning towards what is possible, without attachment to what arrives, when or how.
For the past six weeks, I’ve been holding space for two potentialities… on one hand, with acceptance… “Yes, this is what’s happening,” and on the other, reminding myself that, “Yes, anything is still possible”… until it isn’t. But who or what decides when it isn’t?
I’ve been challenged and triggered by the ease with which focus IS placed on the outer appearance of reality, and the diligence and dedication naturally given to preparing for the worst.
It’s taken 6 weeks for me to recognize these micro triggers as micro reflections of my own fear and doubt around being too hopeful and failing, too sure and unable to prove what I know.
What if it doesn’t work?
What if I / it fails?
What if I don’t prove what’s possible?
It’s taken 6 weeks for me to finally let go and recognize that here… possibility was never mine to prove.
The practice has been learning to hold both with equal reverence. To remain focused on what I know is possible, without making it the only outcome considered Divine.
The third… the middle path… to hold space for both potentialities without believing that only one of them is in divine order and the other a fail.
It has been a painful challenge and an invitation to neither abandon possibility because of outer appearances, nor require possibility to take the form I would most like it to take with painful attachment.
For now I remain present, surrendered, holding both. Listening. Trusting. Leaving room for the mystery of life to reveal what comes next.
When it comes to the journey of the soul of a loved one, we never really know where their story ends…. Or continues… they are one and the same even if not always visible to the eye.
I remain present. 🙏🏾🤍🙏🏾🤍🙏🏾
