People value what they pay for. Your price communicates value.

That doesn’t mean you should charge more just for the sake of charging more.

But if you’re constantly discounting your services because you’re worried about what your clients can afford, you may be making their budget your pricing strategy.

Your price needs to reflect the value of your expertise, experience, time and the business you’re building.

Pricing is one of the many things we’ll dig into inside Business Foundations for Fitness Professionals, my 8-week mentorship for trainers and fitness professionals who want to build a stronger, more sustainable business.

Founder pricing is currently available.

September applications are open.

You’re a unicorn, baby! šŸ¦„

Stop looking sideways at the other trainers in your gym and wondering how you’re going to compete.

I’ve been having fun with tarot lately. I see as a way to pause and reflect, seeing things from a different perspective. Plus, I love the imagery of these cards.

These two cards keep showing up for me this week.

The Hierophant: wisdom, teaching, mentorship, passing on what you’ve learned.

The Ten of Pentacles: building something lasting. Legacy. Long-term impact.

I mean……that tracks.

I’ve spent a lot of my life figuring things out by doing them. Making mistakes. Learning. Building. Starting over, and building again. Did I mention making loads of mistakes?

At some point, I realized that experience isn’t meant to just stay with me, it was meant to be shared.

So I see this as:

ā™¾ļø Build something that lasts.
ā™¾ļø Teach what you’ve learned.
ā™¾ļø And do it your own way.

Today I was part personal trainer, part therapist, part problem solver.

Because sometimes the workout isn’t the hardest part of the session.

Sometimes the win is helping someone walk in feeling overwhelmed, stiff, tired, or frustrated… and leave feeling stronger, more confident, and a little more like themselves again.

That’s the part of coaching people don’t always see. The exercises matter, and of course the programming matters.

But so does listening, adapting, and meeting people where they’re at.

It’s also one of the biggest lessons I hope to pass on through my Business Foundations for Fitness Professionals mentorship.

New trainers often think success comes from writing the perfect program.

In reality, the trainers who build long, sustainable careers know how to coach the person in front of them, not just the workout on the page.

Technical knowledge gets clients results.

But professionalism, adaptability, and genuine human connection are what build careers.

That’s exactly what my mentorship is about.

If you’re ready to become not just a better trainer, but a better fitness professional, send me a DM. I’d love to tell you more.

When I became a personal trainer, I knew I was building a business.

What I didn’t realize was how much of it I’d have to figure out on my own. Things like:

Pricing.
Systems.
Client retention.
Difficult conversations.
Boundaries.

There wasn’t a roadmap for building a professional, sustainable fitness business.

Over the years, I learned through experience - what worked, what didn’t, and what I wish someone had taught me from the beginning.

That’s exactly why I created Business Foundations for Fitness Professionals.

If you’re a fitness professional who’s great at coaching but wants more confidence on the business side, this program is for you.

ā€œYou don’t need more clients. You need the right clients.ā€

I said what I said!

One of the biggest mistakes I see a lot of fitness professionals make is trying to appeal to everyone.

If you’re speaking to everyone, you’re speaking to no one.

The coaches who build sustainable businesses are the ones who know exactly who they’re here to serve.

And here’s the part nobody talks about: you get to choose.

You get to decide who you work with.
You get to build a business around your strengths.
You get to create a client roster that energizes you instead of drains you.

When your values, experience, and ideal client are aligned, marketing becomes easier, coaching becomes more rewarding, and your confidence grows.

Stop trying to fit into someone else’s version of success.

Build the business that feels authentic to you.

If you’re ready to stop guessing and start building your fitness business with intention, my 8-week Business Foundations Mentorship begins this September.

Details are in the šŸ”— in my bio.

You may be an excellent coach. You may have years of experience. And chances are, you genuinely care about helping people.

But nobody taught you how to build the business around your coaching.

āœ“ How to consistently attract clients.
āœ“ How to retain them.
āœ“ How to create boundaries and systems.
āœ“ How to communicate professionally.
āœ“ How to build a business that supports your life instead of consuming it.

I know this because I’ve lived it.

After decades in the wellness industry, I became a certified personal trainer at 50. Since then, I’ve built a thriving six-figure personal training business in my 50s by combining exceptional coaching with strong systems, clear communication and genuine client relationships. Now I want to help other fitness professionals do the same with more clarity, confidence and intention.

This is an intimate, 8-week small-group mentorship for personal trainers and fitness professionals who are ready to stop winging the business side of their work.

We’ll cover client acquisition, retention, communication, systems, professionalism, boundaries, referrals and the practical foundations of building a sustainable business.

The next group begins in September, and applications are now open.

If you’re a personal trainer, strength coach, yoga teacher, Pilates instructor or other fitness professional who wants to build a stronger business, the link is in my bio.

I’m also happy to chat over Google Meet or WhatsApp to see if we’re a good fit.

You know how to coach.

Now learn how to build the business.

Soooo if you know me IRL you may realize that I’m a bit of a hippie. I am having fun learning tarot (I’m drawn to the beauty and imagery of the cards) and pulled three cards for myself: past, present and future.

Knight of Cups, Six of Wands & The Empress šŸ‘‘ This last one gave me a small thrill šŸ’–

The Knight of Cups: follow the feeling. Trust the pull. Let yourself be led by something that doesn’t always make logical sense on paper.

The Six of Wands: look at what you’ve actually accomplished. You are no longer trying to prove that you can do this. —>You have done it

67 years young and stronger than ever 🦾

So proud of my client - not just on her 67th birthday, but every single day. She shows up, puts in the work, and has truly made strength training part of her lifestyle.

Her dedication has paid off in a big way: through consistent training (along with appropriate medical care, diet and supplementation), she’s improved her bone density from osteoporosis to osteopenia.

I film little progress videos for her to send to her son in New York so he can cheer her on from afar šŸ–¤

But can we take a moment to appreciate those back muscles thošŸ”„

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned as a personal trainer:

Your onboarding process matters just as much as your programming.

It sets expectations, builds trust, establishes boundaries, and shows clients what it’s like to work with you - all before they show up for their first session.

If you’re a coach, take a look at your own onboarding process and ask yourself:

Would it reflect the quality of your coaching?

I’d love to hear what’s included in your onboarding process - or what you think is often overlooked.
