Tomato season 🤝 pasta night

Follow Olivia Cupido, Gut Health, Culinary Dietitian for more seasonal and simple meals 🍅

Roasted, collapsed Campari tomatoes, grated garlic, fresh mozzarella, thinly sliced basil, good olive oil.

Dinner can be simple, and it can be delicious.

As much as I love speaking, I love the simple sounds of cooking. It’s meditative. What do you think?

How are you enjoying these delicious summer tomatoes??

PLATES LATELY 🍽️

Been quieter here lately but don’t worry I’m still eating good. Spending lots of quality time with the little boys then spending lots of time being tired from all the quality time. And reading books.

I’ve been cooking for as long as I can remember, and helping other people cook in their own kitchens for almost as long (ok fine, about 10 years). If there’s one thing I know, it’s that you can’t truly learn to cook if you don’t understand what you’re adding and why. If you want to be able to whip up something from some scraps and pantry staples, if you want to be able to riff on a favorite recipe, you have to understand the foundation you’re working with.

I’m always posting half eaten plates or dirty dishes but sometimes I can’t help it,  sometimes the phone does indeed eat first.

Here’s everything I ate at the Samsung launch party at Ace Hotel Toronto , all captured on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Samsung Canada. Whether you’re using the small or the large screen here, this is pretty ideal for capturing food photos, and I’ve taken quite a few. I loved getting to play around with this and the other new products. ✨ I didn’t mind all the snacking either 💁🏻‍♀️

Here’s what I ate:

1,2- fried chickpea fritters- crunchy outsides, creamy insides, think creamier polenta fry

3- crispy halloumi bites and grilled veggie skewers

4- a really creamy hummus that was perfect for those skewers

5- Galaxy Z Fold 8 - hello screen!!

6- popcorn and candy bar

7,8- a really good slider

9- a moment for Toronto

10- snap

11- fried artichokes- when this came around I was witness to many people try their first artichoke, made me realize not enough people are eating artichokes and we want more

12- seriously buttery olives, do not underestimate a good olive

13- pile o meat, but make it pretty

14- lobster salad cups

15- always a moment for a selfie

Absolutely loved getting to shop, cook, and feed the people at the farmers market!! And what’s most wild is that this is my job!

Last month, I spent the afternoon at Dufferin Grove Farmers Market with the Care/Of and Flavour Harvest teams cooking up delicious, fresh, seasonal food for our romantic little table of guests right in the market. Supporting local food and farmers (and bakers! the bread we served was such a hit), bringing people together over food, and cooking with good people are things I love doing so I was honoured to be part of this project. What a perfect summer day.

On the menu: peach and basil soda, creamy white beans with grilled peaches, grilled zucchini, and herb and olive salsa verde. If you think peaches and beans don’t mix, please try this. And if you think zucchini is a boring vegetable, please slather it in this salsa.
