Sun is essential
It takes a lot of energy building a flower garden. All a plants energy comes from the sun. Planting flowers directly under the sun to retrieve 5 to 8 hours of sunlight for a lush beautiful flower garden.
Healthy Soil
Not too chunky - not too gritty. Organic is best so the plant can properly absorb all nutrients which is essential for a flourishing flower garden.
Perennials and Annuals
There are two basic kinds of flowering plants. Perennials are plants which stay alive for several years and maybe decades. When winter is over the plant is still alive and will sprout again in spring. Annuals are plants that go through their entire life spand in one growing cycle. Its sprouts from a seed, its grows its roots producing gorgeous flowers which later creates seeds and dies off. Both types of plants are gorgeous when in full bloom and are reasonable to care for.
Is one better than the other?
Not exactly, they are both just as lush and beautiful than the other. All depending on the gardener some love to grow different plants each year while some love to see the same plants each year. Annuals need more care, a little bit more watering, fertilizing and planting them each year maybe a chore to some. Perennials contribute steady maintenance and structure and many gardeners are delighted each year in waiting and caring for their favourite flowers to bloom.
Labor Cost
Annuals need a lot of TLC, really. They need regular watering and fertilizing more or so than perennials. Producing all those flowers takes a lot of water, nutrients and sunlight. As for Perennials depending on the type they also need watering, fertilizing and sunlight but not as much attention as annuals.
Sunlight or Shade
Less sunlight you have the less the flower blooms and in some instance may sprout more leaves. Focus more on where your garden retains more sunlight, wheres its easier for watering. Read the label and package or even catalog description carefully.
